Toward the end of the 1960s, when the world was suddenly aware of blues guitarrist Jimi Hendrix, as he exploded into psychedelic rock, those of us who loved the Blues coming out of South-Side Chicago were already well aquainted with Buddy Guy as one of the giants of the blues guitar, sometimes having to record under the pseudonym "Friendly Chap" to side-step recording contract regulations in order to record with harmonica legend Junior Wells. Although we mourned the tragic and all-too-sudden loss of our beloved Jimi, Buddy didn't go anywhere, and has mastered multiple styles. Although Buddy professes to be "Green as a pool table, and you know I'm twice as square...", he's been developing his mastery of the guitar for 40 more years, and he's never stopped polishing! Buddy Guy might consider himself "green", and perhaps "country", and you'll have to decide for yourself whether to call him "square", but there can be no doubt that this is a MAN!

I love the blues.
I love Buddy Guy, as I said on the other post. I must have seen him 7 or 8 times, minimum, starting in about 1983 or 4. I don't covet a polka-dot Stratocaster, but other than that, his taste is impeccable (and the Strat looks fine on him, I just don't think it would work for my act, well, if I had an act).
