So sorry you lost your work, that can be quite frustrating wherever you're working!
I've never had it happen here at Gather - yet! I always do my posts in a notepad, for safekeeping for future reference, etc., so if one of mine does disappear while I'm editing at Gather, I'll have the notepad right there to re-do.
Yeah I have had that problem before. Sometimes my computer freezes before I get to save it as a draft and I have to reboot and then rewrite my article. I feel your pain!
Yes, I have something like this any time I try to post something with a hyperlink. Some posts just don't work without having a link to another page, so right now I'm not going to try doing such posts. It shouldn't be so hard to post with a link, but I've been finding out that others are having the same issue. Good thing, because I was starting to feel like a blithering idiot for not being able to figure out how to do it. I can make hyperlinks just fine if I email something, but I can't get it to work on Gather.

This happens a LOT on Gather. There are steps you can take to reduce occurrences of this problem though. If you would like more information, please let me know!

...and yeah, the white screen of death is a pain in the neck. I use AutoSaveText -- it's an addon for Firefox that stores what you post in a form. It's problematic at times, but it saves me a lot more often than it annoys me.
Yea, it's happened before, but not for awhile, and I always cut and paste into Word before I send anything more than a couple of sentences, no matter what site I'm on.
off & on all the time... very aggravating. I try to write it in Word first and then copy & paste it into Gather. It's really frustrating when you wait 1/2 hour to upload a video or photos and it does that...
