Why Can't Tom Gerace Give an Honest Answer?

Several of us asked a question last week on Tom's post regarding some issues allowed to go on in the Writing Essentials group. This was questionably handled. My friend and author of the above-linked article, Grems, requested an explanation of this situation, and Tom stated he would answer her.

It's been almost a week, Tom.

I don't think you're that busy. I have worked over 40 hours in that week, and I had time to post this article. Have you worked over 40 hours?

This question, and the community it affected, both deserve a response.

Kris I agree that Grems deserves a response but I wont hold my breathe waiting for it.
Is this, like, a **GAME**?! Should we suggest the alternate ways he's been spending his time? If so, I'm snagging, "Fighting Angry Monkeys Who Have Stolen Plutonium" and "Foiling the evil plans of his arch nemesis, The Green Goblin" before anyone else can grab them.

I was going to guess, "spending all his free time on Facebook meeting new people and making friends and played Bejeweled Blitz."
He strikes me more as an Aquarium dabbler~
I meant to say "playing Bejeweled Blitz" and I know I'm coming off as a snob by correcting my error, but screw it.
I think he's at Wal-Mart, doing his Christmas shopping.

Shoot. Heard a knock on the door and thought staying put had paid off. But, no, it was not Tom coming to discuss the fiasco. And it wasn't a delivery man bringing flowers to smooth over my hurt feelings. It was a freaking Jesus peddler who got snooty with me when I told her she was too soliciting.

One thing that interested me back in the day was that "The Brady Bunch" and "The Partridge Family" had moms who'd previously made a career of playing the lead in road companies of second tier Rogers and Hammerstein musicals. There's got to be a deeper meaning in that.

The short version is, someone created a bunch of self-important drama out of a very popular Writing Essentials assignment, and "Management" chose to stand up for the problem instead of the solution. Last week Grems, and several others, asked Tom to explain it, and he danced a little sidestep and said he'd get back to Grems. No one believes him.

We all know that nothing will come of any of these things. He's not interested in the people who are here. He's only interested in bringing in new members who are really curious about what Brittney had for breakfast.

Us old-timers are thorns in his side and make his new dream for this place difficult to attain. No one wants to play where there are so many angry people, now do they?

If he'd look beyond his business classes and cash in on a little of the psych and sociology that I'm sure he had to take, he'd realize that pissing off and pissing on all of us was a really bad idea.

But, that would require him to address us, and that's not going to happen.

Apparently my comments have not been found worthy and have been removed on another post. I guess I was mean when I suggested using resources to support one when they struggle to write using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
It's OK, Gremsie. My first ever removed comment was from that same post today. All I said was that I loved Roy.

Is that so wrong?
One of my comments got left behind. I don't understand. Maybe it hid in the cellar during the purge.

I haven't been here in awhile since I've been working hard (maybe too hard) in the wake of this recession. It doesn't appear that things have changed a great deal in certain areas of communication? I do hear Gather ads on NPR, though.

Merely an observation Kris. Memory is a funny thing, people remember what they choose to remember in a manner which frequently suits their needs.

It is also interesting when people decide they need to continue to comment on articles to attract attention from those they have asked to stay away.

I don't know all the background to this, but I do think that not getting an answer since the beginning of November is a bit rude. It's best not to "wish" all your problems away. Ignoring them is not the answer. Even if people don't like what you have to say, responding would have been the best thing to do.

I find the two posts (this one and the original by Grems) disheartening, despite their entertainment value.
