I was urged by Marilyn here on Gather to take a look at Chris Walace's interview of Rush Limbaugh. I was told that it would change the mind of any liberal concerning Rush, that he is a man of seriousness and wisdom and objectivity.
Rush: you have to understand that Obama is pure ego.
Me: uh, and you're not?
Rush: It's clear that Obama is out to destroy the US economy. It appears that he is doing this intentionally.
Me: uh, we have seen with our own eyes how Presidents obsess over their "legacies" before they have even taken office. Pls. explain why Barack Obama desires to be remembered as the man who destroyed the US economy.
And now I am also trying to puzzle out why the interview of one talking head by another talking head is newsworthy. Let's get Anderson Cooper to interview Rachel Maddow on Prime time. How about 60 minutes with Jon Stewart and Glenn Beck sharing their wisdom with the nation. Once upon a time we used to talk about public policy with what are called "newsmakers"- the men and women who we elect to create and revise public policy. I guess that change is consistent with our attitudinal shift on television in general. Once upon a time we used to watch situation comedies and dramas that commented on social issues in a fictional context. Now we watch so called "reality" television which purports to actually explore reality, but in actual reality is a collection of balloon boy dads and Jerry Springer style misfits who lift their figurative t-shirts to flash the nation. Not going to learn much by watching that.
Thanks for the time waster, Marilyn. In the interest of honesty, let the record show that I could not stand to watch the whole thing.

I listen to conservatives, democrats, republicans and liberals - even watch them on TV - but none of them are drug-dealing hypocritical blowhards. No, they are intelligent reasoned individuals who happen to often have different viewpoints than mine.
Any man who tells MILLIONS of people that he will do their thinking and tell them what it is, IS NOT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY, nor is he to be permitted to go unchallenged. Limbaugh is NOT THE MESSIAH HE CLAIMS TO BE.

Just try to have an intelligent conservation with them, it is especailly funny when they forget to type from the script.
When somebody like the Lindas, Marylins, etc., sees nonsense like this interview and credits it with some intelligible legitimacy it a telling mark and just how marginalized and delusional their thought process. I have to wonder what it will take before the Ephipany, THe Great Awakening, THe Dawning arrives and these people understand they've been fleeced by charlatans in age old, time tested, snake oil tradition.
