Hi Norma! I am just running by to say hello. Feel like I am still on hyperspeed from work....of which I stayed another hour and a half late! Hopefully within another day or two I will have all the back log caught up and can at least breathe again. Of course, I have to take a half-day off Friday so come Monday morning I will be behind once again! Sigh!

Thanks JoAnn. It wouldn't be too bad except I just got "thrown" into this job mid-week last week and I am still learning my way. Also, while I would love to take some time off just for me, unfortunately this isn't exactly the case. I have a chronic illness and I have to go have treatment Friday afternoon which means my weekend will be spent recovering from the treatment.

It will be local. The only times I will be down your daughter's way is if it is time for another bone marrow biopsy or if I have to be hospitalized again. Which we will hope won't happen for a very long time! LOL!

HI Norma. glad you are having a nice day. Wasn't too bad here - a little chilly. I had a long day. I had to take my car in for regular maintenance and get a recall taken care of. They had to keep my car overnight because they didn't have time to replace the part from the recall. I was almost ready to put up a fight when they weren't going to pay for a rental car, but ended up paying for it. I had bowling tonight. I did horrible but laughed the whole time about it.

Hmm, car recall.....wouldn't happen to be a Ford would it? You don't have to answer....it really isn't my business but anyone that owns a modern Ford should check for recall notices on their vehicles. Seems several models of Fords are having to have a recall. They recalled a part on our truck a couple of years ago.

Hey Everybody. What a bummer the Comcast man didn't get the computers running earlier so I could have been on while you all were on. Well, we're on for now. But guess what? This afternoon, no sooner than the Comcast man left, the t.v. and the computer both went caput again. The t.v. still won't work through the box. But it works through the line, which means we don't get all the channels. I really have to wonder how Comcast intends to stay in business when we can't even go 2 weeks at a time without having to have someone come out. It's another outage. "Techinical difficulties", recorded message. I'm dating it all now, so I can show them how many days we don't have access to one or the other or all.

We had a beautiful day here today. I washed the patio door windows and the kitchen door. So nice to get those outside chores done in good weather. Our spinach is coming along SLOWLY. The greens won't be long being large enough to cook. We realized something tonight. The turnip greens are ready in 45 days. The collards in 75. Now how in the world is that supposed to work out when I scattered them all out there together? Any suggestions? To make matters worse, by eye-balling, I wouldn't know a turnip green from a collard at all. We're just used to eating them, not growing them, and someone else usually cooks them. I haven't cooked a pot of greens I picked and cleaned in 36 years.

Take your finger and dig around what you think is a turnip about the time you think it should be ready. It will be the ugly top, The collards will kinda look like cabbage and the Mustard greens will be pretty delicate leaves.

We didnt plant any winter crops. Got discouraged. Dang coons stealing all the corn. the neighbors dog running through it .....hogs caame through but didnt hurt it. I guess because it was baren by then.

Ya'll had a blow-out for Halloween and Wilma and Elsie's birthdays. Hot dog. I think I'm going to get a piece of this and that. Does anyone know how to make the lemon ice box pie that doesn't get cooked? I think my mother put Eagle Brand milk in it. And an EGG! And of course, grated lemon and lemon juice. I can't find my recipe.

Norma, we had fried onion rings tonight for supper to go with the chicken salad. We used the Betty's Fish Fry Mix. They were so good. We both got up from the table at the same time (a major no-no) and when we turned around Zinachinni was up on the table finishing off the fried onion rings. You can tell your sister-inn-law our little dog loves her fish fry too.

Moses has got a lot done in the last couple of days. He replaced a fuse in the microwave so it is working again. Thank goodness we didn't throw it out. So now he'll look at those t.v.'s that have all blown over the last year or so and see if he just needs to replace a fuse in them. And he is painting a 8 ft cabinet that goes in the kitchen. He sanded it all the way down to the metal, then primed it, and now has the first coat on. I think it's going to look very nice when he's finished.
