I WILL ALWAYS STAND AGAINST DOMESTIC ABUSE AND ABUSE OF ANY KIND!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will alwys be at your side in thought Ruthi my ray o sunshine. Great way to take a stand!!!!!

I've been your light at the end of the tunnel, how many times?
Yet when I, finally, test your fee-fie-faux royalty-loyalty,
You break out the brass knuckles.

Well guess what; as you throw me away, day after day,
I'm caring less and less, that you're dreading my absence.
And I'm caring more and more, that I'm dreading your presence.

In fact, while you're pretending not to miss our lost time,
And I'm pretending not to miss our lost tune,
The only thing that melts my heart, that moves my soul, is a lonesome dove.

Hear it? See it? Of course, you don't.
That's why it's calling me out of an ever-present danger.
That's why it's pulling me out of a loathsome, irksome, tiresome past...

I recently made a post "Justice Served" about a girl back home, my age who was killed by her ex boyfriend. She left him due to abuse, they had a child together. She dropped him off one night at his house so he can visit his dad. He came out and argued with her because she filed for child support. He shot her 6 times in front of their son.

People in that situation, you need to realize you deserve much better. It is harder than you think, but you need to get out of those situations.

I just visited your post, Terry...my heart breaks for the young boy who will now carry that horror of his parents with him for life.

You're right, all deserve better, all need to hear that often so that it is believed. Thank you!

I thought of you at first light/first trip to the back yard with the dogs. A lone dove on a nearby wire was cooing a good mornin' to us all. I wondered where its mate was and then I thought of you :-)

Tame, each of us are incividuals with a unique soul, yours apparent in your artwork, as well as in your words and disposition. I would say (cliche) that you need no validation, however, I do believe that validation from others is a positive force that helps us reaffirm our belief in ourselves, and it is something beneficial to us all.

Thank you for drawing attention to such a terrible problem and encouraging others to stand against it too! I walked away from an abusive relationship to save myself and my 3 week old baby. We walked out of hell and into a better life!

I am so honored that this particular dove prompted you to think of me! That makes me feel so good inside... Kimber, I so respect your willingness to read the handwriting on the wall and your ability to take it seriously. Too many endangered mothers ignore their instincts and convince themselves to stay "for the sake of the children." Thanks to you, your child isn't likely to get addicted to drama and trauma. And if you continue to make appointed choices and anointed decisions, your grandchildren, and all those who come after them, will be spared a lot of heartbreak and heartache...I salute you. x tame

Right you are, Ruthi. In fact, I have printed this out and am going to pass it on to someone I know needs it. She's been struggling and has not found the courage yet. Maybe this will help her. Sometimes, as we both know, the victim makes many, many excuses why they need to stay (sigh)....

Renda, that is a great idea and let's pray it helps her gain strength to do what she must. I don't look at them as excuses, they are explanations...generally they are explanations to those who ask that perturbing question - why do you stay? That question stiffens every hair on my head, as I know from personal experience exactly why and anyone who asks it doesn't have a flippin' clue about abuse. (ok, off my rattling stairs now)

Ruthi , I have just visited your website and indeed there is much sunshine in there. Your site reminded me of my dear friend Dawn who had a similar one. She was fighting against domestic violence along with so many other things she did while here with us.
