Pew conducted a survey last spring showing that the Fox News Chanel had almost as many viewers who identified themselves as Democrats (33%) those who said they were Republicans (39%) and that CNN had a larger percentage of Democrats (51%) than MSNBC (45%).

A more recent survey asked viewers to identify their "main source" of news and 56% of the Fox viewers were either Democrats or independents. Asking independents if they "leaned" toward one party or another increased the "Republican" Fox viewers to 63%, equal to the number of "Democratic" CNN viewers.

This still leaves 37% of the Fox viewers unsympathetic to the Republican party, a mirror image of those loyal to CNN. Perhaps we should pause before embracing stereotypes.

The ONLY thing I watch on Fox is Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.
I also subscribe to Time, Newsweek, The Economist and the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
Online I view Drudge as well as Huffington, the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Washington Post, Greg Mankiw's and Robert Reich's blogs and (of course) Uncle Jay Explains the News
I watch Fox, but I know not to take any of their news seriously. I have other sources for real news.
There is a lot of truth to what you say, largely because the Republican party has, largely, purged all but the hard core ideologues. Much to the chagrin of their left wing, the Democrats still have the blue dogs and some independent thinkers like Claire McCaskill.
My point is that, while certainly not my cup of tea, Fox still has a substantial portion of it's audience that are not ditto-heads.
I think if their LIES were more believable, instead of being an insult to the intelligence of the audience, it would do more damage.
I believe they are really damaging themselves in the "fair and Balance" nonsense.
I know I watch ALL the news orgs I can.
Independents seldom have a candidate, but we always vote. Strange, but true.
Rudi... if you dont like it, dont watch it. Be the smaller 30% that dont...lol.

I've watched all of the various news networks and while some are pretty bad, none of them are good enough to take as your sole source of news.
