Nostradamus

From the History Channel, "According to legend, Nostradamus once encountered a young Franciscan monk herding pigs in Italy. To the surprise of onlookers, Nostradamus respectfully addressed the lowly monk as "Your Holiness." In 1585, years after Nostradamus died, that monk, Felice Peretti, became Pope Sixtus V."

I find Nostradamus to be a gifted man, but I also think some of the interpretations of mankind to be a bit fixated.  Another words, we push the point to fit the prophesy.  Nostradamus also believed pills made of rose petals would keep away the plague, and that the world will end in 2012.  But if you read on he also believed it would end in 3797.  So?

He's interesting to say the least. Just like you say however his quatrains seem pretty flexible as to meaning!

Prophecies like his were so vague they could be interpreted in many different ways, thus giving the appearance that his predictions were correct.

Rose petals contain vitamin C, you can get it at the health store. Nostradamus was not allowed to speak of astrology or psychic phenomena in his time, his writings were hidden just as Di Vinci had hidden symbolism in his paintings.

The prediction signifies the end of this Earth as we know it. Great changes are taking place.

If you can write vague poetry in future tense, you, too, can be a prophet. Nobody knows that those quatrains of his are saying so we have no way to know whether they are accurate or not.

It's just plain silly.

He know not too many peope would be around to complain to him about what he believed. A good history lesson on his life and prophesy.

I cant explain away his knowing about the future Pope... He also, predicted the death of a King and it happened too.
