Fabulous Tarot of Stephanie Pui-Mun Law ~...

Since I felt that my earlier video attempt to portray Stephanie Pui-Mun Law's fantastic new Tarot deck (to be released by Llewellyn in early 2010 c/o www.shadowscapes.com/ ) failed to do justice to her work, I've re-made the video clip in a mpeg-2, 720p HD format with a full 4 second duration per image. Following the 22 Major Arcanum are the Ace through King in each suit of Cups, Pentacles, Swords, and Wands. Music is from "Flamenco Mystico", by Rom guitarrist extrordinaire, the Lamentably Late Gino D'Auri, from his CD of the same name.

The 22 Major Arcanum (in reverse order) can be seen, along with "interpretations" by clicking "view all photos" below. (Frankly, providing the same information for ALL 78 cards was FAR more tedious work than I'm willing to put into this project!)

Phenomenal Artwork. Would have been awesome to have Uriah Heep's "The Wizard" as the soundtrack.

I am not into Tarot but this would be a nice gift for my Wiccan brother Ted. You remember Ted, right?

Of course I remember him. Sorry, Robert, but my CD collection is a bit lean in the Rock department since I started collecting mostly chamber music, and got rid of all my old vinyl many years back. Other than some flamenco and a bit of Chicago blues, most of my CDs are Boccherini and Telemann's music--nothing written later than @ 1835 AD.

Hey, what can I say? All Hallow's Eve is a time when the barriers between this world and the Otherworld supposedly come down--many cultures are convinced that all manner of spirits are able to pay us a visit at that time. Some call this time Samhain.

White Rabbit would be cool too, but personally I like your choice for the soundtrack (Gracie is strictly a joke!).

Thanks, Kat--From what I hear Grace actually showed up (and performed) at the "Westfest" in Golden Gate Park's Polo Fields this past Sunday. I didn't make it, myself, even though I was supposed to be one of the 14 Videographers armed with big Sony HD cameras, filming in 1080p. Fortunately, there were enough photographers to do the job, filming about 70 bands made up of geriatric rock stars from I think every band that ever played in San Francisco in the sixties! 2B1 Records, (Boots Houston's label that put on the affair) will be putting the whole thing on disks, so I'll just have to wait for that to come out if I want to see it (along with Gracie's performance).

Whatever I used for the soundtrack, though, would have had to have been six and a half minutes long to do the trick, so I don't think "White Rabbit" would have been long enough.

I knew "white rabbit" would have been to short a piece, but for some reason your video and Robert's comment invoked memories of a concert and light show long past where the "Alice in Wonderland" cartoon was the backdrop for the lightshow. But any memory of who performed the psychedelic sound track has been lost or temporarily misplaced, and "White Rabbit" was the best alternative I could come up with at the moment.
The concert sounds like it was pretty cool. Let me know if there are any video clips floating around.
