Survivor Samoa featured a non-vote Tribal Council this week, but with a strange episode comes the norm as most was the same as before once again in Samoa. Following the fake Tribal Council, Galu was ready to crown a new leader and the guys planned it out to nominate Shambo. Now we all know Shambo is my favorite out there, but she's getting played by the foursome and hopefully it doesn't spell out her demise. Shambo doesn't realize that the guys are basically using her, and making it so the girls can't scoop her up, but I doubt they would want to anyway.
Over at Foa Foa things were looking up, for once, as the group realizes they still have a chance in the game. Five against eight isn't too bad of odds but everyone is looking forward to the merge. Without Russell over on Galu, Foa Foa believed they could beat the somewhat defeated Galu and Russell was actually glad to still have Liz. She IS strong, but with the two butting heads she probably won't last long. The next morning the Galu guys put their plan into affect to make Shambo their new leader. Erik seems to be running the show, with hidden idol in hand, and started the nomination. Of planned Shambo was nominated and believed it was simply because they wanted her as leader. There were alternative motives but after Shambo's "new style of leading" they may be regretting that decision. The girls sure are and had no clue it was coming.
The reward challenge was probably a nice break for the castaways as it involved no physical action whatsoever. All they had to was play the game of memory, the tribe that scored the most matches would win a trip to a pirate ship! After getting the first few matches, Galu was off to a strong lead, as in most challenges, and ended up winning thanks to Natalie making several wrong choices. She wasn't really reprimanded for not thinking but with her having a Russell seed in her I doubt anyone cared. Shambo, as the new leader, made her first decision and sent Laura over to Foa Foa. That forced Laura from the reward, which I'm sure Shambo LOVED doing, as she would spend the day and night with Shambo's friends.
Back from the break Galu was seen being paddled out to the middle of the ocean. Boarding the pirate ship reminded me so much of Pirate Master that I wonder if it was the same ship. It was fun to see the Surviors in a different location but other then making Monica mad that Laura wasn't there, there really wasn't anything exciting about the Pirate Master return. Foa Foa had some interesting shots though with Laura annoying Liz and Russell making her another one of his puppets. He told Laura that since she is christian, "like him", they should go to the final two. Seriously why do people buy every word and story he says? He is a mastermind, he makes for good TV but seriously Russell is pure evil! In a good way though.
With Laura back, but not participating, it was time for the immunity challenge which featured fake fish and a boating challenge without any paddling. The tribes had to first fish out fake fish puzzle pieces from a boat, paddle the boat back to shore and put the puzzle together. The tribes kind of went around the rules though and pushed their boats in the shallow water rather then paddling them, putting Foa Foa into an early lead but one they lost thanks to Jaison. He basically gave up before the boat was back at the shore and then was no help during the puzzle. They could have easily won had he actually tried towards the end but no, Foa Foa lost, yet again. Even without their bad luck leader necklace.
They all knew what to do as it was their millionth time going to Tribal Council. It was between Liz and Jaison going and of course it seemed that it was all up to Russell. He wanted to get rid of Jaison since he gave up during the challenge, but he still couldn't trust Liz but at least she tries and does contribute to camp. No way was Natalie going since she does whatever Russell says and in the end Liz was the one to go. I liked Liz, she was fun to see talk behind people's backs and actually could have made the game interesting at the merge. Which FINALLY happens during the next episode. They are merging at 12 people, which is a bit odd, so I don't know how that will be handled but we'll have to tune in next week to find out!
