Late last week I was wondering why it was so quiet at the bird feeder in my backyard. Usually late afternoon is super busy and you can here all the birds all over my culdesac. It was really quiet out there though.
I went out for a walk to get my mail. I always have my camera around my neck during my walks because there is always something to take pictures of while I am strolling around.
I heard a strange bird call when I was leaving the house and didn't think much of it until I got on the main road, which runs parallel to the backside of my house. I heard the calls again and that's when I spotted these two perched in the pines on either side of my house.

No wonder there were no little birds around.
I only had the H3 on me. So these were taken with a standard lens.
I think they are young redtail hawks, but I am not sure since I was viewing them from a distance.

We have a hawk that chased all the pigeons away. Which is a good thing because the pigeons always tried to build nests in the eves of the roof.
The hawk nest is in a tree across the street, he pretty much keeps out of site. The place across the street was having a rodent problem and now they don't.
It took a few weeks here.
It should read
