A Believer
by Anne Marie A.
They mock me for wearing your sign.
The cross
They hate me for saying your name.
Jesus
They judge me based on a word.
Christian
Your word teaches me not to mock, judge, or hate.
The Bible
The cross is a symbol of my saving grace.
Jesus is the name of my savior.
Christian is the name of my faith.
A believer is the label I proudly claim.
I believe in the Holy Trinity.
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
Free will is our gift from above.
My choice is hope, faith, and love.
I wrote this originally in 2007, but changed a line in the poem.

If the will is actually free as most claim, then why do we pray to God to change people's hearts?
This is a sweet poem, tho. . . Thank you!

P.S. Do you mind telling us which line you changed from your original?
