People on cell phones and others who could not care less about how obnoxious they are, demonstrate the absolute truth of the theory of "The Empirical You" In each person is a driving force that says they are the center of the universe. From them their universe stretches out. Their family, town, state, country, star group, and so on. Included in these are their sports teams, religions, all that makes them who they are. But mostly they have a deep abiding love for themselves. Nothing, especially anything not in their Empirical Universe is important. They never stop to examine any situation, could this person be sick, really need to ride that scooter? Is my loud strident and boring conversation bothering those around me? Am I encroaching into personal space both physical and auditory? Am I not as cute and sexy and important to others as I think I am?
The sad part is that unless this is brought to their attention they will continue in this fashion until they mercifully die and cease to be a pain to everyone around them. Harsh words? Yes, but admit it, you do too don't you, just a little?

But usually I am not at all comfortable talking on a phone, especially a cell phone (which I do not own.) I'm always afraid I'll catch someone at a bad time - like in a meeting, or at dinner.
Today everyone, except Ruth, has a cell phone. They are cheap and meaningless. They serve very little use except to keep folks in constant touch whether they want to be or not. Unless you call in case of an emergency, why I have mine, then turn the damn thing off put it inside your pocket and get a life.
