Boating on the Swan River With Bob
Elizabeth E. (aka Ladybess aka Bob) is a Leprechaun who fled Leprechaunia to come route marching and snapping away with her camera in sunny Western Australia. But when drifting in a hot-air balloon above the Perth Zoo, she managed to fall out of the basket and land in my upmarket condo - within the Ape House - and thus dodged the clutches of the Oz Customs and Quarantine Service.
If she'd been seized by them, deportation was on the cards - Don't want yet another zonked out little personage here, thank you very much! However, although she escaped their bureaucratic clutches, this Yankee Leprechaun from Boston didn't manage to dodge the firm, hairy paws of yours truly - a New Age, born-again ape stumbling around in search of enlightenment. And because she initially declared: Have camera, will travel! that's exactly what we did. This included boating up the Swan River with Colin, a very good friend of mine.

Right then, All aboard!
Image 02

Hello, sailor!
Image 03

Hope I don't get seasick.
Image 04

Hope we don't hit an iceberg.
Image 05

I'd better pray.
Image 06

I guess what will be, will be.
Image 07

Ah, good! We're going to call in somewhere for coffee.
Image 08

We might even have a big breakfast.
Image 09

Oh, I'm feeling queasy.
Image 10

Hey, Colin, is it a good idea to let Bob drive?
Image 11

Watch out, don't hit the bridge ahead!
Image 12

Thank God we got under it! Now , Bob, get us back to the left hand side!
Image 13

But, Colin, I missed the bridge pillar by that much!
Image 14

Ah, coffee at last!
Image 15

Yep, I could go another cup!
Image 16

Damn! My flip-flop somehow fell in the water.
Image 17

It was an accident, Colin, not mutiny. Please don't flog me again.
Image 18

Are we having fun yet, Colin?
Image 19

You will now have fun or it's overboard with you, Bob!
Image 20

Here, Bob, have the keys to the fun kingdom.
Image 21

A word from the wise, Bob.
Image 22

Two words from the wiser, Colin.
Image 23

Better hug my security blanket.
Image 24

Ah, this is the life!
Image 25

We didn't have a big breakfast at the cafe, Colin.
Image 26

No, I'm not going to give your hat back, Magi! I'm not a happy camper!
Image 27

Perhaps we can swim ashore and find a big breakfast at some cafe.
Image 28

Wow! Jerk open the throttle again, Colin!
Image 29

Yes, I guess I could get used to this laid-back life, Magi.
Image 30

Wow, now we're moving!
Image 31

I wonder what it all means?
Image 32

Smile, Magi!
Image 33

Ciggy time.
Image 34

Are we nearly home, Colin?
Image 35

The trip was wonderful, Colin.
Image 36

Now we can hop off and go eat.
Image 37

Let's find some bacon and eggs here at the E Shed Markets.
Image 38

Is that why the cafe said they had no more Big breakfasts ... sigh.

Your comment about big breakfasts - I couldn't help but laugh.
Another great photo essay - how could it not be? :)
Featured...you know where!
And thank you very much for the featuring.
Yesterday morn when I went out to breakfast with Fran and her husband, I could tell by the fall colored trees I was back in Mass. Slept most of the afternoon and part way through the night....but it seems I'm still on Ossie time.
Looks like it was fabulous day.
Oh wow. anybody could get used to this life. Might take some getting used to, but............I'm sure I could manage.
Featured in the Triple Name Club.
I'm sure you could get used to the life - and so could I.
Thank you very much for the feature, Kathryn.
Bob was great on the outing - she was a hit with Colin and, few nights later, with Val, his wife. They had us over for tea (supper) - roast beef and all of the trimmings.
And I saw where you wrote about his neighbor, Wendy. I hope you can post some articles about your time with her.
Emu is pronounce eeemyou.
As for the purple fleece jacket....I left it in Oz and Mag gave it to 91 year old Wendy, his neighbor, who over the six week stay provided me with a first hand account of the war years in Holland.
Welcome home, Elizabeth. I'm sure you and Magi are counting the days until he come to the US.
I am indeed eagerly looking forward to coming to the USA in 2010.
Thank you very much for the encouragement.
Just came back checking before bed to see if a new story was up. Guess I'm too early. Have a good day.
Mag, Paul Revere's house is still standing and we can visit it when you come as well as go to the North Church where the candle was burning to signal whether the British was coming by land or sea. You know how you love churches.
That gorgeous creature fell out of the basket of a passing hot-air balloon. The Ape House will never be the same again.
Or were you referring to Colin?
But the tale is posted - enjoy!
