My dad's dog tried to eat my computer

Boo! My fiance's niece poured an entire glass of milk into my laptop one time and totally fried the whole thing :(

Yes Kara, the dog is picking up on your fear and using it to his advantage. Some times the smaller dogs are the freshest. Many times because of their small size, they have a need to protect themselves from anything or anyone who they feel is a threat. Watch a couple of "The Dog Whisperers" programs on National Geography. He'll show you how to deal with these little guys. You must let him know that you are the alpha......the one in control. When he comes up to bite you or growl at you, make a hissing kind of noise (no kidding) and give him a little poke and don't back down. Whenever he comes to you again in a threatening manner, make the noise again. Stand tall, don't back away and let him know you mean business. Dogs are creatures of habit. If he always gets away with biting you, he thinks its alright to do. Stop it now. Check out the show if you can or maybe watch a video on the computer about his show. Good luck!

My daughter's dog tried to eat my boyfriend yesterday.
Daughter's boyfriend had been rushed to hospital with gangrene in two toes - so his sister got the kids, and I got the granddog, Leroy.
Leroy and my boyfriend have never really gotten along, but he has never bitten. He is a long haired weiner dog.
We have a 5 month old Jack Russell - both are males and they don't like each other much either (nor does my old chow/lab mix like either of them). Anyway, as I was trying to get everyone into neutral corners - I accidentally handed the granddog off to the boyfriend instead of our dog ===== oh my gosh ----- Leroy went absolutely berzerk - by time I had everyone separated my boyfriend was bleeding from several puncture wound on and under his chin and one finger was about chewn thru.... also a huge scratch side to side on his stomach.
Then about an hour later we get a call that daughter is broke down half way to the hospital.... so off we go - 60 miles later we meet up with her - van has no oil, everything is closed, and its 20 more miles to the hospital. I guess you know what happened then....
Got back home about 2:30 am.... am a zombie today.
Little dogs are on separate chains at separate ends of the yard - big dog is riding herd on everyone - and keeping his territory well marked.
Hospitalee has had his leg catheerized and they found 3 other blocked arteries... will probably have to have two toes off. And then someone will have to fetch them back home.
And the wheels turn on and on and on!!!

My Brother in law has a trick for dogs. He gets high quality dog biscuits and puts them in a ziplock. He will take one out and toss it toward the dog, then put the ziplock in his back pocket. Since dogs can count and remember up to three, they keep eyeing him wondering if he will toss more. If they sit (without giving the command) he will get out another and toss it. This trains them to be calm around him. The reason he puts it in his back pocket is first they won't sidle around back of you if they don't trust you because they want to keep eye contact. And second, they get used to him moving a hand back where they can't see, and yet good things rather than bad things results, so the trust builds.

He also claims to know why the dog whisperer works so well, he says what Cesar whispers is
"Do you know what neutered means?"

Expanding on James comment, is the dog neutered? Sometimes that helps with aggressive dogs (or selectively aggressive).

Goodness..I think that dog needs a little disipline!! Sorry about your cord. I did that one time too..adjusting the cord every few minutes to make it keep working when I had a laptop....it was a pain!!! Hope you get a new one soon!

He knows that you're scared of him, so he's going to keep going after you.

What's the worst that he can do to you? Bite you? Use your shoes for a potty? Really, he's a tiny beast, and he can't do all that much damage to you. There's no real reason to be afraid of him.

Could be love.
