Some Art Paintings I find astounding

I have decided to show some as they show up durring the day when I am working. This is acually the second one

Portrait of O. P. Ferzen on a Donkeyback. 1835. Watercolor on paper. The Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia.

This was done by Karl Brulloff.

A few words around the time this was done in 1835.

When Brulloff returned to Russia in 1835, the Academy of Arts organized a reception in his honor, and he was even granted an audience with Czar Nicholas I.

In 1836, Brulloff was appointed a professor at the Academy. His fame as an made him very much in demand, and when it turned out that he was also an excellent teacher, interested in the success of each and every one of his students.

I found that art teachers I had during my life were far more interested in showing me what they had accomplished than instructing me in my art efforts. I'm glad to read this Karl Brulloff was intersted in his students and their efforts. That is a mark of a good teacher and we can see by this water color that he was a talented artist. Water color is a more difficult medium. In that what one paints may look completely different in the final dried piece. This is beautiful.
