I am compiling a series of short stories all pertaining around the small town of Ravin Hill. Each story has a connection to another and shells out some of the dark secrets hiddin within the town infested with evil. I have several ideas for novels that will run within the boundaries of the town. The (short) stories that i will be posting to go along with this i one day hope to publish as a full novel and create a whole series explaining the world that my stories are based in, the devils playground of Ravin Hill.
The titles of the stories i have somewhat planned out so far are as follows (they are in no specific order as of yet.)
Introduction : "An Introduction"
1 : "Flirting with disaster"
2 : "The Gentlemens club"
3 : "Wishing Well"
4 : "Ghost Hunters"
5 : "Life's a Bitch"
6 : "The walk"
7 : "The Drive Home"
8 : "Taking the plunge"

The Darkness that is Ravin HIll

"An Introduction"
This is a town filled with horrors to say the least. If you ask anyone out on the street about the strange things that go on behind closed doors, they ignore and deny it all. But you see beneath the denial. You see the awkward way their feet shift from left to right. You watch them twiddle their thumbs and never look you in the eye, afraid you'll see through their blatant lies. They avoid it with everything they have but they know, deep in their heart of hearts, they know every intimate touch of the darkness that dwells within the town. They are soaked in it.
It is in the people, the places, the very earth it was settled on. Ravin Hill is it's own very special hell on earth and they all turn a blind eye to it, but keeping one eye open while they dream weary dreams in their sleep; keeping watch for they bogeyman they know prowls among them.
In some way we have all been touched by the poison of Ravin Hill. We have all been corrupted and mutilated to the very depths of who we are. The darkness has driven many to the breaking point of sanity, it has poisoned the minds of children, lovers, and even the most god fearing of men. There is no pure person and never has been within the limits of our town. We are tainted from birth. We are it's children and will always be bonded to it no matter how hard we try to escape. We are this town and we are it's evil.
I say we because i have become apart of the evil that is the town. I have felt it grow inside me like a cancer since i first came here. a little over a decade ago and it chills me all the way through. Only by the grace of the greater powers that be, i wasn't born in Ravin hill; This hell on earth forgotten by god. I am not like the life long prisoners, left to endure every dark deed the mind can think of. I am resistant to the disease but slowly everyone gets taken in and lost forever. It's only a matter of time. I've seen it happen.
I have seen many sins during my time here and heard of a thousand more. Sins are the blood that flows through this town without a heart, and every man, woman, and child bears the mark of at least one on their diseased souls. They are the forever damned.. They were born here from the devils womb and will die here as their fathers before them have since the towns founding over 200 years ago. Sin has followed from father to son, one by one down the line, leaving them to rot in the Hill Top cemetery.
I've saved newspaper articles and letters that I've found in this journal as a dark history and warning to anyone who finds it. I have pieced together what i could from the hushed whispers and under the table gossip. Everything i know about this town is in these pages, in the stories of these people who'se lives this place has destroyed.
. I am moving on from here and hopefully I can make it out in one piece. The Bogeymen have caught my scent and are closing in faster than I would have liked or anticipated. Quick mother fuckers i will give you that. The taint of this place is strong and I don't think i'm ever going to be able to cleanse myself of it but I am damn sure going to try. I hope you can do the same
