Last week I was very sick, I took my temperature and it was 101 degrees so I figured I should go to the doctor. I was in such bad pain that I had to call my dad to come pick me up to take me to a Doctor's Care. I have a my own doctor but it was around 7 so we had to see a doctor at an office that was open late. We got there and I was just sitting in the waiting room crying from pain. It was taking forever to get in to see the doctor even though I was the only person in the waiting room!
Well once I finally was called back I got this awful nurse. She throws me one of those masks to cover my mouth to keep from breathing on anyone then hands me the thermometer to take my own temperature. So I lift up the mask to put the thermometer in and she yells..."HEY WAIT TIL I'M AWAY FROM YOU!" and I was like...sorry! Well then she tells me she needs to take my blood pressure, and I say okay. I'm basically about to pass out I feel so light headed and my temperature was 105. Then she yells again, I need to take your blood pressure! I said alright, go ahead, then she says well you need to take that sweat shirt off! I was like ok sorry, I wasn't thinking. She rolls her eyes and takes my blood pressure.
I then go into the room and wait for the doctor. Thank GOD the same nurse wasn't the one to take my blood, not that the other nurse was any better. Well the doctor comes in and says my white blood cell count is very high but I tested negative for the flu so they want to get a chest x ray. So the same nurse comes in and says come on. I follow her down the all to the x ray room where she continues to be extremely rude, and yelling at me how to stand, then when I accidently stood in the wrong direction she got so annoyed with me. I said sorry and again she rolled her eyes!
Well as it turns out I had penumonia. I was so sick and in so much pain all over my body and could barely stand so I just wanted to get out of there. I did not say anything but I couldn't help but think I would never want anyone to have that same nurse, especially if they were very sick like I was and in pain.
I was wondering...should I do anything? What can I even do? I thought maybe the nurse was just having a bad day, but still you cannot take it out on your patient who is trusting in you to help them get well. Needless to say I will NEVER be going back to that same doctor in an emergency. I will just drive the extra miles to get to someone who is caring and concerned.
Have you ever had a bad experience with a medical professional?

I have had that happen once & I called the insurance company while I waited 40 minutes for the doctor. The insurace company called the office while I was there & the office manager ran in the room while the doctor was speaking to me about what was wrong, The office mamager started screaming at me, I got up looked at the doctor, said I am calling the insurance company again, as I whipped out my phone & hit readul. The doctor was saying no we can work this out, the office manager was screaming like a lunatic, I spoke to the person that called the office and she said/my god leave there go to the ER, I'll take care of this, call me when you get to the ER.
At the ER the doctor told me If I waited a day longer I would have had penumonia. he gave meds & I went home. There were 10 messages on the answering machine, the insurance company2, the doctor 2, the office manager 2, the investigator for the insurance company.
Long story short, the doctor was dropped from the insurance company!
