From sunrise to sunset
We spend the hours of our days.
Wanting, wishing and hoping.
We are custodians of our time.
The minutes tick by and soon it is night.
Many sigh over what they did not get done.
Tomorrow is another day...
But soon the Tomorrows stack up into yesterdays...
Tomorrow I will do this
Tomorrow I will do that
But somehow there is never time,
Never time to smell the roses
Never time to rest and be grateful for the things we have.
Never time to just enjoy the moment...
The sun, the bounty of our lands, the beauty of the oceans
So many wonders in the world
So many things to ponder and reflect upon...
But the cares and focus of this world take our attention away
From the one who so tries to reach out every day to get our attention
The one who created the world of butterflys and rainbows...
And who created us.
Each sunrise
Each sunset
There is a colorful painting up in the sky,
Far beyond the "masterpieces" in museums...
Yet few look up to embrace the the wonderous beginning
And ending of our day...
And rejoice in the glory of the Lord
Or praise his Holy Name...
Or even thank him...
For they are too stuck
In the mire of their lives
Never realizing the difference
Nor the power
Of the one they so try to avoid
Even though
He is waiting
With patience
And open arms
For their return...
