Do you say "I love you?"

When you talk to your hubby, children, grandchildren, parents on the phone do you tell them you love them before you hang up and say bye.  When you are leaving the house or someone of your family is leaving, do you give them a hug or kiss or both and tell them you love them and bye?

Yes, we do.  I was always taught that you never knew if that might be the last time you might be able to talk to that person or see that person. That we never know what can happen when we part company.

It is a great habit to have.  How many of you do that? and why or why not?

I tell every one I love you(who I love) often! I tell mother, father, sisters and brothers on the phone, and the other day my boyfriend(who's family i never here say i love you even to the little ones) is so used to me saying it to everyone and saying it back to me that when he was on the phone the other day he told his sister he loved her before he hung up the phone, he was embarrassed. I told him he was crazy.

I tell my children at every turn. My grandparents and parents did not say it.

Now as a grown woman, I tell my mother and she will repeat it back sometimes...

Aww, bless your heart! Your mom loves you that is for sure! You teach your children and grandchildren that there is no shame in saying it no matter how many times.

I don't say it as much as everyone else, but yes, we do say it. My husband is in Iowa right now and he knows I love and miss him a great deal. Told him last night. :)

You can never say "I love you" too much and I don't think any of us get tired of hearing those three words.

At this point, I need to hear his voice and he was the one who said it to me. I usually have to say it first. Makes me feel better when he says it first.

when we married, going on 44 years my spouse said he had never in his life seen such a kissing family as mine......when i came in i kissed my parents.....when i would leave i kissed my parents....all the time my daughter, g'son and i say i love you.......

yes I do tell my daughter katie in florida when I talk to her I love her, I tell my 102 year old grandmother I love her and I tell my kids at home I love them. and sometimes I tell my husband I love him. my nephew even tells me he loves me when he calls all the time. but I do not tell my dad and my step mom all the time I love them, my real mother never tells me she loves me when I call her its the only time I talk to her is if I call her or just show up at there house. and I do not even know what I did to my real mother. I even send her mothers day cards christmas cards and I never hear thank you or I love you. If I tell my dad and step mom I love them they say I love you back.

Yes, I do! I was brought up in a culture where your feelings are not to be expressed as it will be viewed as weakness on your part. My parents were of the same mind, but I refused to be that way. I tell my kids i love them every chance I get, and my family and friends. It is a good habit to cultivate.

I habitually close conversations with "I love you." Sometimes I get confused and end conversations with my co-workers that way, too.

I am a constant I love you person. In fact, one of my friends once asked me if I was a lesbian. Why? Because on the occasions we would get together, when we part I'd say, love ya! See she came from a home that no one ever said I love you. So based on that alone she thought I might be gay. Which is funny considering she knows I dated - and they were guys. : )

Anyway, every conversation I have with a friend or family member ends with I love you. I must have picked it up from my mom. When someone leaves my apartment, or my dad leaves his house when I'm visiting, I always say I love you. It's a habit. And that's one habit I never want to break.

yes... i say it to my husband, grandma, my aunts and i used to say it to a close friend's grandma.. [well she would say it to me first lol]. my brother and i are too awkward to say it to eachother. i dunno why.

Yes i tell my grandma and my kids and mom and dad. But my hubby no. I have no ideal why. We don't even hold hands nor kiss no nothing.

Yes, I tell my family that I Love Them, but I think my husband does it even more than I do. Since my sons have gotten older, I don't really kiss them anymore,but I tell them that I Love Them. I seems like in my family my husband still kisses the boys and not our daughter,and I kiss my daughter and don't really kiss the boys now. Your post has brought that to my attention,guess we have to work on that!!!!!

my biggest thing is to make sure when I say those words it's with feeling rather than just saying it as routine. It bothers me when I hear people say it quickly and without setiment, almost as if it was the word goodbye itself.
