In a horrible postscript to the tragic death of University of Connecticut football player Jasper Howard, police have charged a man with the athlete's death. Police in Connecticut charged John William Lomax III, 21, of Bloomfield, Connecticut, with the murder.
According to reports, Lomax is charged for stabbing Howard to death outside of a school-sanctioned dance, but his defense attorney says he was just trying to break up a fight.
His bond was set at $2 million.
The UConn football team has been forced to deal with this tragic story for the last week and will again be forced to confront the situation this week when they host their first home game since Howard's death.
The Huskies will host Rutgers this Saturday at home at noon et.
