The Philadelphia Eagles went into our nation's capitol last night and dominated the completely dysfunctional Washington Redskins at FedEx Field on Monday Night Football.
Final score: 27-17 Iggles.
There were lots of subplots in this game:
- Donovan McNabb became just the 4th quarterback in NFL history to throw for 30,000 yards and 200 touchdowns, while also rushing for 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns.
- Brian Westbrook was knocked out of the game in the first quarter when he took Redskins linebacker London Fletcher's knee to the helmet. The Eagles have reported Westbrook suffered a concussion and won't play next week against the Giants. Fletcher appeared to be knocked unconscious on the play, but he returned to the game.
- Westbrook's younger brother, Byron Westbrook, is actually a cornerback for Washington. He joined his older brother in the training room after the injury.
- Redskins coach Jim Zorn continues to plant his rear end on an extremely hot seat this week after looking terrible against the Eagles. Earlier last week, Redskins owner Daniel Snyder took play calling duties away from the head coach and handed them to Sherm Lewis, who has been with the team for 2 1/2 weeks. Previously Lewis had been calling numbers at Bingo games. Seriously.
- Jason Campbell looks as lost as ever at the QB position, with Washington fans calling for his head. There were many audible boos coming from the crowd directed at the home team last night.
Philadelphia is now 4-2. The Redskins are 2-4.
