I am trying to make a few gifts for Christmas this year. One of my friends is having a baby girl in March, it is her first baby, so I want to scrapbook a baby book for her. I also am planning on making on at the same time for my newborn, Olivia.
The typical scrapbook has 20 pages ~ including the first page and the last page. So I need ideas on different layouts. I want to use it more like a pregnancy album and for when the baby first gets here type of album ~ like a baby book with lots of room to journal.....
Any ideas?
I am planning on using an 8x8 Album since i have a few of those that I already bought on clearance. If all goes well I will make her a baby's first year album for her baby shower.

borders representing each month; a place for a picture; maybe the flower of that month on the page; "what i accomplished this month" section for journaling; "how big am i?" for height & weight...........there's too much cute stuff for scrapbooking. i'd have a hard time deciding. :)
To allow for lots of journaling, I'd make some pages with a big journaling block--just lines so your friend can journal about anything she wants. I'd make other pages asking a specific question or a subject idea as "My Thoughts On Pregnancy", "Hubbie's Thoughts on Expecting A Baby". You could get other heading ideas by looking at the manufactured books by going to a book store. Maybe there's a questionnaire online.????
Hope this helps. Great gift idea!
Another idea is to include a sheet of baby and one of pregnancy stickers with instructions that these stickers can be used to embellish the bottom of the journaling block if the journaling doesn't fill the block. That way your friend can have some of the fun of embellishing and personalizing the album. Also, she won't feel obligated to fill up the whole journaling block--that can be stifling.
