Lisa Strong went to the ER at Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines. Strong let a nurse know that Strong was having a problem with a kidney stone. Unfortunately, after mis-communication between the hospital staff, Strong was discharged without having the kidney stone treated.
Because of her discharge, she began to suffer from a rare tissue inflammation called "the line of demarcation," which prevented blood flow to her extremities. The only option was to have her limbs removed.
Her 10 and 11 year old children now attach her prosthetic limbs for her each morning and are her caretakers. Strong's lawsuit against the hospital and doctors for malpractice ended with a not guilty decision but the judge is calling for a new trial since the jury which cleared the doctors of wrongdoing didn't follow the law and the evidence.

And for the Children too.
