What's on your plate this Halloween ???

Well, since I have two young kids, we're taking them Trick-or-treating. Then, when we get back, we'll check their candy. And, when they go to school, we'll eat some of their candy. Te he!!

I'll probably sleep through everything LOL

My friend had a movie party this past weekend and he'll have the costume party on Saturday. That's correct - we party so hard it takes two weeks!

Will miss the beggers. Stupid city has begger's night on Thursday and we have to work late. That's okay - I don't want to be around a bunch of germy kids anyway.

Just me and myself...horror indeed.

We're taking off to the mountains this weekend with lots of scary movies and Halloween Cocktail Recipes - of course, Bloody Marys are a given! We are going with 2 other couples - so it'll be the "Geezers Halloween Weekend"... LOL!

We used to have big, huge parties for the kids up until they turned 15 and 17.....that last party, well, it got out of hand, and that was it for them, until they get their own places!!!! We would have the kids parties on friday and then the adult party was on Saturday night, it was a blast!!!!! I have been a pirate, a french maid (oh, the old man didnt care too much for that one, at least in public:), a sexy princess, a witch, I have dressed up as all kinds of things, but this year, we only decorated a little bit, the coffin in the yard, three tombstones (Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Janis Joplin..I know, not so scary, but hey we love rock n roll!!!!) and some bats and ghosts flying around, and a spider that drops when kids walk up.... the boys used to dress like Michael Myers, we would take the chain off the chain saws and they would chase the little kids,,,,, I know, we thought it was funny, but some of the kids got really scared, but they kept coming back, so no damage to their little minds.......this year, I am dressing up in scrubs and lab coat, so I can wear gloves to hand out the candy and a mask so I dont breath their germs, UGH< sick germs!!!!

A WW 1 gas mask would also be a good costume idea this year !!!

Saturday morning: clinic. I wonder if the staff will dress up. Trick or treat? We generally have apples, fresh homemade popcorn balls and candy bars, but no trick-or-treaters! We'll certainly need to see 6 year old grandson Oliver in costume.

Last few years have been a little light with trick or treaters. We will probably be out for the evening this year. Maybe the movies or if we are more adventurous, Atlantic City for some scary slot machine action.

Our neighborhood has a parade and costume contest. My kids are working really hard to get their costumes made trying to win the prizes this year. My son will be in the still life category and my daughter will probably be in the creepy crawly categories. LOL My son is making a "recycling bin" costume. My daughter has decided to be a mouse caught in a mousetrap. They are doing a great job on their costumes and I will post photos when they are done. My daughters is creative and hilarious and I am enjoying helping her! Hers is my favorite I truly hope she wins first prize. She will probably be the only girl her age not a princess or fairy! As far as trick or treating goes we are undecided. IF we do take them we are wiping down all the candy afterward with lysol wipes and we will make each kid take a hot soapy shower when they are done to get all the germs off before bed!

I'm going to a party on November 7th for Halloween. As is usually the case with my bunch of friends now that we have real jobs, we can't get ourselves together to party on the correct weekend so we always party the weekend after. :) (Not to mention we can get the candy and decor 1/2 price).

As for actual Halloween, I'll probably be over at my boyfriend's house handing out candy since there are no kids in my apartment complex. We are going to get candy tonight so there will be stuff we will eat. (I'm secretly praying for no kids in his apt. complex either so I have all the Take 5 and Twix to myself :) )

I'm afraid I'll be too preoccupied with NaNoWriMo. I haven't even bought any candy yet. I put out a few decorations - I'm pitiful this year. I have to find my candy bowl. I'll probably just buy another one. I don't want to have to go digging around in the attic for it. I am pitiful. lol. But hopefully I will have a successful NaNo! :-) Happy Halloween.

We usually give out candy at the library but since Halloween is on Saturday and we are closed on Saturdays now, we will give out candy on Friday. I doubt that I will "dress up" though.

There's a party here at the Clubhouse for the kids and whoever. I'm going to check that out to take pictures.

We'll be trolling the 'hood as vampires then back home to catch Elvira hosting Chiller Theater on Channel 11. The movie is The Evil of Frankenstein. (Parents always snack on the trick or treat candy they just don't tell the kids)

I love candy corns, they are neat to eat and only available in the fall. I have low blood sugar and not fond of sweets so I tend to stock up on Halloween candy.

I am going to a family event we do each year for each of the cold weather holidays.

We have a little neighborhood get together around 4 (hot dogs, pizza, snacks, drinks) and then trick or treating. Then home to snuggle and watch scary movies!

Our little family is dressing as The Simpsons. Should be fun.

I'm handing out candy. The grandkids will go out trick-or-treating and come by here for special treats.

We are going to the downtown safe trick or treating at the stores Friday. Then Saturday to Mount Horeb (The Troll Capital of the world) to trick or treat in the cave (Cave of the mounds) and then to the Grumpy Troll to eat and then door to door out there for more trick or treating. :)

I was so PO'ed last night to see our local Kroger hosting a kid party, kids were everywhere to get a balloon and a goody bag, and probably a good case of the swine flu, If I had young kids trick or treat would be canceled and we would go buy a ton of candy we have had kids die here already.
its bad enough they have to go to school but to have a party like that where they are coming from all the schools is stupid.

is West Virgina they are saying do not take your kids to unnecessary dr appointments like when you have to go, and kids are not allowed in the hospitals unless they are the patient. i just wish parent would take this seriously around here.

I will sit at the door and hand out candy. I find the children and often proud parents delightful.
