Season four of Brothers & Sisters has been full of drama, but with the Walker family drama seems to be the norm. Between Kitty's cancer diagnosis and treatment, the planning of Justin and Rebecca's wedding and the troubles at Ojai, there is a lot going on. However, this week's episodes titled Last Tango in Pasadena seems like it might be just a bit more on the light hearted side as we get to meet the new man in Sarah's life. The man she met while on business in Paris. At the end of last week's episode, he showed up on her doorstep out of nowhere, and now it looks like the Walker family has to deal with this new addition to the family, no matter how long term or temporary he might be. Just from the short preview of this week's episode, we can see he is in for a battle.
This week's episode of Brother & Sisters opens up with Sarah in bed with her new man. He's been in Los Angeles with her a week, and he wants to celebrate this little anniversary with a day in bed. However, Sarah's kids are returning from a trip with their father, and sooner than she thinks when the phone rings and they are at the door. It was too soon for the kids to meet the new man, so she comes up with a plan for Nora to let him stay at the Walker home for a few days so she can break the news to them about Kitty and maybe about the new guy too. Nora doesn't seem too thrilled, but when Sarah introduces her and Kitty to him, we almost see Kitty swoon and even change her plans to go back home to her ranch with Robert to stick around the house with Nora and Luke, the french man. However, she has plans to go to an event with Robert that night, even if that worries Nora.
Plans continue to move forward with the wedding, and this week's big issue is the fact that Justin cannot dance. Holly offered to pay for dance lessons though. Nora even tries to teach her son, and this is almost laughable. However, Luke walks in and takes over the lesson, which causes Kevin to freeze in shock when he sees his brother dancing with the new man. Sarah has problems telling her kids about Kitty. Meanwhile, Kitty has called in the family to see the new man in the pool. They all enjoy the view, and when Sarah calls Nora to check on things, she finds out that her mother doesn't think much of her new man, but what she doesn't know is that her little girl overheard Sarah and Nora talking about Kitty being sick. Paige ends up going to Nora about it, and she tells the kids. This only leads her and Sarah into an argument once Sarah returns home. She even says she will take Luke out of the Walker home to stop inconveniencing Nora. The kids seem to be fine though as they go to be with their mother after Cooper has a nightmare.
However, Kitty seems to have been surprised by her husband. He has taken them to a rooftop celebration to celebrate her going through treatment well. She didn't want that though. She wanted a normal night. She wants to feel normal. The fireworks in the sky are far from normal. Robert finally gets it though, and they return home to be with their son. As for Kevin and Scotty, they are still trying to have a baby, when a friend of them wanting to invest in her little business has what she thinks is a brilliant idea. She can be their surrogate. Kevin seems less than thrilled about the idea. These two have a bumpy road, even as they fight at a Walker dinner. Who doesn't fight at a Walker dinner? After things cool off, these two finally decide to use Scotty's friend as a surrogate. Luke finally goes to Nora on his own by the end of the episode, and he tries to be an ear for her. He even offers her to dance to cheer her up. He is a charmer, isn't he?
He wins Nora over, and by the next morning she is ready to apologize to Sarah. The two have their little chat, and Nora tells Sarah to keep Luke to herself for a bit. The episode ends with the Walker family in bed with each other for lunch. One other plot line in this episode is Holly's new money troubles. Seems she got swindled out of her money, and she can't even afford to pay for Rebecca's wedding now like she wanted to. Definitely a more lighthearted episode this week, which rounds out the drama and chaos of the last few episodes. Next week, seems to bring the drama back though as we have the return of Tommy to Walker home.
