The Amazing Race got rid of their loony baggage last week but tonight it was all about the scaredy cats. Still in Dubai teams had to grab a briefcase, row out to a boat, get a watch and use the time on the watch to open their briefcase. The rowing out to the boat was a Road Block, kinda of a boring one, but some were creative. One of the trotters and one of the brother used their arms as paddles while Gary rowed from the front of the boat as if he was about to slip out. Other then that I saw boo to the boring Road Block, but thankfully the rest was good.
Nobody really had trouble opening the briefcase except for the trotter who did the task. They started in third but ended the task in last as they didn't realize the time on the watch opened the lock. Once they did though it was almost too late as the trotters were in last, but not out yet. Cheyne and Meghan were far in the lead the entire show and hardly saw another team. They were the first to the Detour, the first to complete it and the first at the mat, again. Didn't I call it last week? The Detour was to either put together hookah pipes or count gold. Meghan/Cheyne chose the hookahs and after forgetting a few pieces and freaking out, they were off to the final task of riding down a huge water slide, through a shark tank and running on the beach to meet Phil.
Ericka and Brian were second to leave the mat but had a stumble with the Detour. They couldn't get the math right at the gold counting so they moved onto the hookahs, where Brian basically did everything again. Ericka was freaking out that she couldn't do anything else, but it was her mistake that cost them. She said the colors of the pipes didn't matter, they did. They still finished up far though placing in fourth, even if both of their fears came true with the water slide. Tiffany/Maria and Dan/Sam have been working together the entire show and once at the gold counting challenge the brothers helped the ladies out again by lending them their $2.00 calculator. Thankfully the ladies know how to handle money and Maria finally helped Tiffany do something as they finished the task, both teams, completed the slide and came in second (the girls) and third (the brothers) thanks to their teamwork.
The rest of the teams ran into trouble at the hookah station. Gary/Matt had trouble finding a missing piece. Once they did they finished in fifth while Mike/Canaan and the trotters also had some trouble Mika sat back and watched Canaan do the hookah building, complaining that she wanted to be naked of course, but they finally finished and were off to the slide in front of the trotters. They, however, switched to the gold counting task mid way through and finished somewhat quickly after borrowing a calculator from the people there.
Mika and Canaan arrived at the water slide first but Mika's fear of water and heights came back to bite her, and Canaan. She wouldn't do the task, even with floaties on! Canaan oddly tried to push her down several times, which I'm sure he'll get flack for, but she just wouldn't do it. Her fear allowed the trotters to pass right by, after some coaxing, and they stayed in the race when they were just about to get eliminated. I kinda of wish they would since they are boring and the show really only focuses on their job rather then them. Mika and Canaan added some "duh" moments to the show while fighting along the way. I'm sure we'll see more of them in Elimination Station and maybe we'll see how the misstep by Mika changes their relationship.
