Obama and the White House trying to control the news media is just part of the arrogance of this administration. EVERYONE should be greatly concerned and express your concerns vocally.

Administration Loses Bid to Exclude Fox
Â
The Obama administration on Thursday tried to make "pay czar" Kenneth Feinberg available for interviews to every member of the White House pool except Fox News. But the Washington bureau chiefs of the five TV networks decided that none of their reporters would interview Feinberg unless Fox News was included.ÂThe Obama administration on Thursday failed in its attempt to exclude Fox News from participating in an interview of an administration official, as Republicans on Capitol Hill stepped up their criticism of the hardball tactics employed by the White House.Â
The Treasury Department on Thursday tried to make "pay czar" Kenneth Feinberg available for interviews to every member of the network pool except Fox News. The pool is the five-network rotation that for decades has shared the costs and duties of daily coverage of the presidency and other Washington institutions.Â
But the Washington bureau chiefs of the five TV networks consulted and decided that none of their reporters would interview Feinberg unless Fox News was included. The pool informed Treasury that Fox News, as a member of the network pool, could not be excluded from such interviews under the rules of the pool.Â

Rahm Emanuel once sent a dead fish to a live pollster. Now he's put a horse's head in Roger Ailes's bed.
Not very subtle. And not very smart. Ailes doesn't scare easily.
The White House has declared war on Fox News. White House communications director Anita Dunn said that Fox is "opinion journalism masquerading as news." Patting rival networks on the head for their authenticity (read: docility), senior adviser David Axelrod declared Fox "not really a news station." And Chief of Staff Emanuel told (warned?) the other networks not to "be led [by] and following Fox."

Only in America
I'm curious about this "Faux Obama administration." Is there a group that's impersonating the real Obama administration?
What Czar do you want to be, Linda?
Let me think... any suggestions? My friends call me "lovely Linda" "loquacious Linda" (you know how I take over a post) "led foot Linda" (Dad used to call me that one) "left lane Linda" (kind of goes along with the 'led foot' thang)
Ok, we now have Internet CZAR (Sue)' Illegal Alien CZAR (John) and...
oh oH OH - how about Gather Post CZAR because, I am "Loquacious Linda"
Sue said: They are, this administration is going after everything. You do the wrong story and it will be your network next.
They should be Ron. They are in his good graces now ... but what Sue said is not only a possibility with this admin, it's a virtual probability. Dominoes and such ...
Fox News averaged 2.25 million total viewers in prime time for the third quarter, up 2% over the previous year. That's more than CNN (946,000, down 30%) and MSNBC (788,000, down 10%) combined.
"The O'Reilly Factor" led all cable news programs with an average of 3.295 million total viewers for the quarter, up 12% over the previous year. "Hannity" (2.603 million, up 9%), "Glenn Beck" (2.403 million, up 89%), "On the Record with Greta van Susteren" (2.150 million, up 16%), and "Special Report with Bret Baier" (1.997 million, up 20%) rounded out the top five.
Meanwhile, flagship programs at MSNBC and CNN did not sustain their growth from 3Q 2008: At MSNBC, "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" averaged 1.087 million total viewers, down 12% from the previous year and "The Rachel Maddow Show" averaged 996,000 total viewers (Maddow began the program in September 2008, so a comparison for the quarter would be inaccurate; compared to September 2008, though, Maddow's September 2009 total viewer average is down 40%). At CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" averaged 1.005 million viewers, down 17% from the previous year and "Lou Dobbs" averaged 658,000 total viewers, down 24%. Larry King and Campbell Brown were both down just slightly in total viewers.
CNN in particular had a rough quarter in the primetime Adults 25-54 demo: the network dropped 39% compared to 3Q 2008, averaging 287,000 viewers.

Well, then, based on that ludicrous logic, Robert Gibbs is even less credible, right??

I think excluding Fox was a bad PR move but it was fun while it lasted.
Thomas Paine Said it best,
"He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from opposition; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach himself."
I think the press has come to this realization.
Think about this, who or whom do we have living today that future generations will quote?
Obama is showing what his mettle is actually made of, and it is not of American values, but more closer to that of China ot Russian.
Unintended consequences.
I do think the med (recreational) that are becoming the main stay of many of the left, has played a major part in this as the Dumbing down, including through the schools, because if not for this reduction of intelligence this sort of thing would never have had a chance. Look how when they tried it in the 50's they recieve a responce, that yes did go over board, but none the less, would have stopped this crap today.
Donahue's show was closed down, just like Obama wants to shut down Fox news - just too much truth coming out of the programs, and LAST thing they want, is for people to actually START thinking when they've been very successful in shutting that down. They only want soldiers/slaves marching lock-step to the same tune. NO thinking for yourself, thank you..
More and more ... and yet, like the lady who keeps saying her boyfriend "didn't mean it" after blacking both of her eyes and sending her to hospital for the fifth time ... many will remain willingly blind to his abuses until it's too late.
I don't know how else to think of it. We have a guy that has zero worth that walked in and took over the office, and only the Left here in America thinks he is an naturally born American Citizen. We have issues with his history, mostly everything he says he has stood for or done, cannot be proven, but that he stands for values that have been apposed by this country for decades, he shows everyday in office. He surrounds himself with criminals and pro-dictatorship personas. He pushes censorship which is something that is not done here on a government level.
We have serious issues here, and they need addressed, but with the Democrats in control, we are being blocked from any communication, and only told what they want us to hear.
Even with all of Bushes flaws, he was more open to his actions and views that this administration has even tried to be.
What I believe has happened, is that Fox news has started talking LIKE US! They saw We The People are fed up with govt. continuing to walk all over our freedoms, building empires all over the world at the expense of the lives of our young men and women, not to mention the economy. They found a nitch or gap, and are now filling it.
When this same tyrannical govt. openly tried to shut down Fox News, everyone is wondering what they are saying and why. Big Obama mistake!!! HUGE!
I like that they give enough points, often missed by the other outlets that I can research these issues better. Actually the main reason I like Fox, is not the news per-sey, but that the points are more accurate for research.
The main issue always presented by FOX is of course how all others are lame liberal lazy troublemakers ... "if only they weren't in the way" ...
Of course it's not surprising to see how many people here let their hatred of Fox blind them to the dangers that the Administration is doing by picking what parts of the media will not be considered media. That sort of blindness is the most bitter of partisanship.

I think more questions need to be asked and fewer cow pies tossed into the discussion.
"I really don't see Obama is any different from Bush in respect to the media . . ."
I agree, this has "evolved" to be so creepy, and it seems to be about authoritarianism, not classic American politics.
Now with the Senate being elected by popular vote as well as the U.S. House of Representatives being elected by popular vote and the president being elected by popular vote the checks on foreign policy and the treaties derived from the foreign policy tend to follow mass opinions as they come along.
The authoritarianism of the recent administrations might be an attempt to restore some elements of continuity to present foreign policy. If so it could be very difficult for even honest politicians to talk openly about this issue as it could interfere with such policies perhaps creating wars based on mass passion rather then wars connected to real threats to peace and security.
We end up with a "National Security State" rather than a legitimate government based on a division of powers directed toward protecting the needs, wants and desires of the masses as well as protecting the rights and responsibilities of all of the citizens of the Republic.
