Most American citizens, gun owners or not, were not aware of the sneaky approach to control our guns.
ObamaCare bill would dump your gun-related-personal information along with your health data into a Federal database and put your (government mandated) insurance at risk if you keep a loaded gun for self-defense. But, since this sly move cost too much, and would inflate the cost of ObamaCare, it was submitted as a separate bill. COST: $247 BILLION!!
Please make NO mistake about it, Obama IS after our guns - the last line of defense from a tyrannical government.

Congratulations!
You have stymied the shady tactics used by Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi to try to pass the ObamaCare bill and -- in the opening salvo of the battle -- you blew them out of the water.
Gun Owners won a huge vote Wednesday in the Senate.
As you remember, the ObamaCare bill would dump your gun-related health data into a federal database. It would also put your (government mandated) insurance at risk if you keep a loaded gun for self-defense.
But there was a problem: The anti-gun health bills cost too much, and Obama had promised to pass a bill which would not raise the deficit by "one penny."
So what Obama, Reid, and Pelosi did was to try to pass a separate bill (S. 1776) which would fund the anti-gun ObamaCare bill by raising the deficit another $247 billion dollars.
But, they would argue, because S. 1776 was a "separate bill," the ObamaCare bill itself would not raise the deficit.
In a Senate not known for morality, this rose to a level of sleaze and corruption that embarrassed many Democrats, in addition to all Republicans.
With gun owners responding vigorously to our alerts on this issue, the motion to invoke "cloture" (or shut off debate) on the bill failed by a 47-53 vote -- 13 votes short of the 60 votes the anti-gun socialists needed.
The victory on S. 1776 means that it will be much harder for Obama, Reid and Pelosi to pick up the somewhat fiscally-minded Blue Dog Democrats they so desperately need to get their anti-gun ObamaCare legislation passed.
So congratulations! It is true that this is only the first battle... but, if we continue battering Congress as we have, it will be the first of many victories.

But in the meantime, pat yourself on the back for a job well done... and have a great weekend!

That's why I joined them about 10 years ago and tell anyone else concerned about Second Amendment issues to do so too.
Speaking of silliness, we also checked a claim from Gun Owners of America that said the Baucus health care bill could be used to ban guns from homes that are used for self-defense. That one earned a False.
It's getting so that the only thing we're "free" to do is obey the ever-increasing piles of laws and regulations which will soon take a rocket scientist's IQ to decipher.
I am as confused as you! I find nothing about guns or second amendment rights here. Legislative or regulatory action that denies the second amendment cannot be constitutional and won't fly.
There is being a tremendous effort made on each and every issue to tie it to something undesirable in every instance. Obviously insurance and drug money talks long and loudly. This has been the most concerted and persistent effort to damage a sitting president in history as near as I can ascertain.
They're the perfect patsies.
death panels isn't enough????
To a true psychopaths, it is the world who is crazy and they are the only ones who can see they are comming for his guns.
Thanks for posting this to 4 US, World News & Opinions.
IN the e-mail I got back fro the NRA, they didn't know of such a provision. (I guess that I should have kept that e-mail.)
Someone else tried to tell me that "mandatory circumcision of all American males would happen under this bill.
They are not going to whack my wiener. And that was a false claim.
Please keep posting to our group and ask others to join.
