Camping is something I’ve done all my life; and roughing it through cold weather is not an inconvenience to me.
I tent camped many times while a member of Boy Scout Troop #1 in Unadilla N.Y. when there was plenty of snow on the ground; and when I went through the Air Force’s Temperate Zone Survival School near Fairchild Air Force Base in the state of Washington there was over a foot of the chilly white stuff around and under our tents; as well as when we had to make our own shelter from what we could find in the wild and then spend a night within.
So, I know how to survive, and I know how to stay warm, and the hassles and problems of camping while it's cold are simply obstacles to be accepted and compensated for.
But in the camping I'm doing right now, it is not just me alone. My sweet darling Donna is with me and I catch myself constantly having to remember that this is much more difficult on her than it is on me.
Whereas I have camped many times during winter, Donna has always lived indoors; and her camping experiences previous to meeting me (the ones that I know of) have always been during pleasant weather.
Thankfully, Donna is no softy. She is bearing up unbelievably well with the inconveniences of our situation, so today's blog is dedicated to her strength of spirit and commitment to our being together. Other women would have dumped me long ago for not maintaining and providing the typical amenities of civilized life; and I am aware of this.
God Love Her – I know that I do; and I deeply respect and appreciate that she is soldiering through this.
All my Love is hereby publicly expressed to my Sweet Donna Blue-Eyes and her deep strength of character.
I Love You Babe !!

A picture of a sunset from the edge of our campground - sorry it's kind of blurry.

Reading both of your posts one can see who has camped for luxury and who has not. It is VERY tough for these people. I agree with you, I think she is holding up very well under the circumstances!!
You are very lucky to have her!!
Keep warm and fed k :0)
I am, indeed, very lucky to have her.
We will do our best.
I Love You Too !!
I'm glad you get something out of seeing/hearing about us and how we stick together.
Peace --
Yup, we are lucky.
Great shot too!
That is all so true.
I did have a house though, just not electric or running water. So you are coping with even more. God Bless and good luck.
At least we have electricity in the tent and our spigot is only ten feet away; and the shower house has hot water.
I actually liked it except for that, but I was only in my mid 20's.
sharing the light,
In November we will have been together eight years.
Thanks for the Good Light and Vibes !!
Our relationship is definitely NOT like Raymond's; Thank God!!
And Yup, I am very lucky to have her.
I tried... 'cause she deserved it.
Thanks for posting to my group, Anythingwriting
We will.
You're a wonderful fella, you are.
I don't know about the last. Seriously, I wish I could be more wonderful.
After having been through some other kinds of relationships, I feel the same way.
Have you thought about getting a post office box, so that anyone can send you something to help along the way?
PM me with the address, if you can?
Don't get mad. We are a couple of tough and seasoned birds.
We had thought of getting a post office box so that we could have a consistent address during all this moving around, but we just haven't been able to afford it yet. Maybe soon.
I've spent all my time today crafting the article regarding the car accident that Donna and I witnessed yesterday. I'll try to get back here and answer everyone individually on Monday.
I hope Everyone has a really Great Weekend.
Peace --
Yup, we'll make it.
and
when I hear LOVE, then I see lots of flowers, blue sky and soft music! it may not be that way while camping but being together it's all that matter.
Thank you
