THE EDGAR ALLAN POE AUDIO COLLECTION At one time, lovers of Poe had access only to the recordings gathered here if they wanted to hear their favorite demon read aloud. My dad used to tell me these scary stories in front of the fire at our 200 year old house in the middle of nowhere. I didn't sleep much!
Don't forget to download the free audiobook. Nothing like having someone "tell" you Poe stories!
But his stuff is so scary and creapy without being so gross and gory. "Old school" horror as I think of it.
And I think reading it is fun, but having someone with a great grasp of the language and pace is amazingly scary!
