Like many women, I have an obsession with clothing. More specifically, denim. I have around 40 pairs of denim jeans. To my husband they all look the same and frankly, take up way too much closet space. Bless his heart. But what he doesn’t know is that each jean is completely unique and compliments my ever-changing moods. I have my classy wide-leg jeans in dark denim, my everyday boot cut in vintage wash, my chic skinny jeans, and my rolled-outa-bed torn jeans. Though, one thing they do have in common is that they are all low rise, which because of my wide Latina hips, fit me the most comfortably. And that’s key, isn’t it? Being comfortable in your clothes really lays out your vibes for the rest of the day.
Today, Oprah featured an on the rise designer who offered up a new line of jeans to fit the comfort levels of those with a little bit of junk in their trunk.
Cookie Johnson, Magic Johnson’s wife, introduced her new line called Cookie Johnson Jeans.
According to the website Fashion Windows, Johnson explained, “I couldn’t find jeans to fit my body type.” She went on to say, “It frustrated me to try on every pair in the store and leave with nothing.”
This common problem among many of us women led her to create a brand of jeans that met a specific body type need, room for your rump!
Cookie Johnson Jeans, which is partnered with the likes of 7 For All Mankind and Citizens of Humanity, come in sizes 24 through 38 and can be found at department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale’s.
But in these trying times when most of us are thinking frugal, these jeans can come as a bit of a shock. Prices range between $140 to $200. So, unfortunately, if you’ve got a booty but lack the Benjamins, these may not be for you after all.
As for me, my Washingtons tell me I better stick to Target and Kohl’s!
