Prowling About With Bob
Elizabeth E. (aka Ladybess aka Bob) is a camera-wielding Leprechaun who escaped from Leprechaunia and is now tramping, trudging and snapping away in sunny Western Australia. Somehow, when floating in a hot-air balloon above the Perth Zoo, she managed to fall out of the basket - landing in my opulent condo, located in the Ape House, thereby escaping the clutches of the Oz Customs and Quarantine Service.
When apprehended by them, she will most certainly be deported - Don't want more whacked out little buggers here, thanks very much! But until she's caught, this Yankee Leprechaun from Boston is firmly gripped by the hairy paws of yours truly ... a New Age, born-again ape in search of enlightenment. We're just bopping around to have a bo-peep at various spots in West Oz. Why? Because when Bob lobbed on the balcony of my Ape House condo, she grinned and announced: Have camera, will travel - now let's go get 'em! So, hang onto your hats as we go prowling about with Bob.
Image 01

Hmmm ... I wonder what's up here?
Image 02

To hell with gardening - where's my lunch?
Image 03

Ah, at last ... bare feet, footloose and fancy free.
Image 04

I wonder if there's a big breakfast hiding in there?
Image 05

I've done it at last - waded in the exotic Indian Ocean.
Image 06

You mean, Magi, this is not my coffee?
Image 07

Oh, that's so sad ... they're right out of big breakfasts.
Image 08

Oh, dear, crying blood.
Image 09

Listen up, kids, and I'll tell you how it is!
Image 10

Oh, they're not bongs but inkwells.
Image 11

So much food, so little time.
Image 12

Yes, there's room at the inn.
Image 13

Mine, mine, all mine!
Image 14

Damn it, Magi, get your own!
Image 15

Better have a dip to burn off the calories.
Image 16

Beach smiles, please, just for the record.
Image 17

You got me.
Image 18

Oh, no, a dumper!
Image 19

I got rolled!
Image 20

To hell with swimming!
Image 21

I thought when you said, Bob on the rocks, Magi, you meant me sipping on an iced banana smoothie.
Image 22

Pucker up, damn it!
Image 23

Smile, you little bugger!
Image 24

I need a caffeine fix real bad, Magi!
Image 25

What do you mean, I look like a wild woman, Magi - let me check.
Image 26

Let me double check!
Image 27

I want to go home - right now! Right now!

There will be tears when it's time to say Goodbye
We've enjoyed your travels in WA
but we know Bob cannot always stay
Actually, I thought the water was quite cold ... but there was no stopping Bob who was determined to have a swim in the Indian Ocean.
In two days time she flies out of West Oz, back home to North Carver - and life will not be the same. But what a ball we've had for six-and-a-half weeks.
Oh you guys will miss each other so much in a few more days...
I hope there will be another photo essay from you or her...
Yes, there are still some photo essays planned.
Thank you for posting to The Surreal Circus.
This was a fun photoessay! I enjoyed seeing Bob in so many different settings and conditions . I noticed how she always seemed to have that camera along or close by... she IS an inveterate photographer.
That picture of her behind a teacher's desk is classic... I bet her former pupils will love that --- always a teacher, even down under!
I had to giggle at the picture of her with a forkful of food... that plate looks filled with nothing but DESSERTS. Way to go, Bob!
I also noticed how her wardrobe changed thru the series... from the long sleeved, thoroughly covered clothing to stripped down shorts and strapped top at the end. Sorry to say it, but she will need sweater and coat when she lands in Boston come Thursday!
Her wardrobe did change as the weather in Perth changed from cold, overcast and wet to spring leaping out with sun and sweeping blue skies. And you're right, Bob is heading back into wintry weather.
As for the dessert plate, I had already had two helpings of entrees...that plate was just the icing....and yes, I ate ALL those desserts myself. Never had so much fun. Today we went back to the Atrium for another Buffet.... and would you believe they had a whole new selection of pastries! Of course I had to try one of each!
Definitely will need my gym when I return.
*Laughing at Magi*
Desserts are the best part of any buffet and whenever one is on vacation, all rules of dieting are on abeyance... that is my line and I am sticking by it. It is interesting though that the last few years, I have lost weight on every vacation trip we've taken... even on the cruises. I guess the heat in the places we visited and all the unaccustomed walking I did during the tours took care of those extra calories.
From the comments above I understand the journey comes to an end and it must be very sad for both of you. You will treasure this for years to come......
Thank you both for all the wonderful photos and who knows maybe next time we will see you Magi in the US.
I'm sure both of us will treasure the six plus weeks of trooping around together and sharing so many memories. I hope to repeat that next year when I plan to travel to the USA.
I love how natural Elizabeth looks in all of these photos.
Thank you both for sharing your adventures with us.
You've got a sense of style and a thousand expressive faces going.
Kudos to the camera man and many thanks for the excitement of this photo essay.
Featured with admiration in Celebration of Collaboration and Inspiration.
Thank you very much, Jan, for your kind comments and for the honour of featuring this chronicle of our journey.
I brought three skirts (really only needed one though I did wear all 3), a couple of tops, and a fancy jacket (only wore that twice).
I brought hiking shoes, sandals, flip-flops and sneakers.
7 prs of underwear (camisoles and panties).
A sweatshirt and a fleece (which I'm so tired of that once I get home, I hope never to see again.)
But really, one's wardrope reflects the activities one engages in, Madame. I definitely had nothing to wear if we had done any formal activities. For the most part I was in jeans and capris.
Leaving was very hard - on both of us. But I am traveling to the USA next year - she and I will undoubtedly shoot many thousands of images and have a hoot of a time.
I'm pleased that you've enjoyed the photo-essays - they'll give you a bit of an idea of what West Oz is like.
