Hi everyone. Sorry this is so late getting posted, but Bill and I have been busy as little bees trying to secure a roof over our heads and jobs.
To be honest, I was feeling in a real funk last night, as we had taken a walk through at an apartment, and I fell in love with it, but we won’t get it. It was the lower floor of a 100 year old Victorian house, and still had all the original wood work, including a gorgeous built in book case, oak mantle and French doors with beveled glass separating the living room from the office area. It had one bedroom, complete with a window seat. All the walls had been treated to appear distressed, which really worked in the old house.
We could afford the rent, but unfortunately, we could not convince the owner to allow us to pay him weekly until I am drawing an actual paycheck. Of course, he wanted a deposit and first month up front, and we couldn’t convince him that we would be good tenants, in a building with college students as the other residents.
After we looked at that place, was the first time since we’ve been out here that I truly felt “homeless”, so I had a little pity party for myself, and bawled like a spoiled little brat who didn’t get her new toy.
I’m better today, so it’s back to the drawing board. We visited the VA today, for Bill to get some papers he needed, so maybe one of the groups which helps vets may help us.
We have a list of numbers to call tomorrow, and as it is supposed to rain all freakin’ day, it will give us the opportunity to check out those resources.
Wish us luck, my friends….Till next time
Peace!!!!
Donna

I've tried to call you a few times ... are you out of minutes or just too depressed to talk? Worried about you. Wish I could help. Do you get texts on your phone? (I know other people with Boost phones and they get texts.)
Wouldn't hurt to keep calling. It's not like there are a lot of people looking to move right now.
Donna, if you haven't already gotten one, you should arrange for a post office box.
"That time of the year" is coming up, take advantage of it!!
Wish you well
Thanks, but isn't that for those on active duty?
Good luck to you.
This is a terribly difficult situation for you and your family to have to endure. I think you are such a strong woman; I would have bawled, too, and I probably wouldn't be handling things as well as you are doing. I hope the VA can help you. There is something so mindbogglingly warped when the state of the American Family could easily be put on the endangered list. You will be in my thoughts.
