A man in Dallas, Philip Padieu was given 45 years in prison for exposing more than ten women to HIV. This man dated women in their mid 50's onto their 60's and never told any of them that he had AIDS or wore a condom. Out of at least ten women that came forward in court, two contracted the deadly virus. The rest of the women will not know whether they have the virus for years to come.
What would you do if your significant other, lover, boyfriend/girlfriend were to expose you to such a virus and cause you to contract AIDS? Do you think this man received enough time for his crime?

As for your other question, I'd be pretty upset if my husband exposed me to HIV/AIDS; however, we have a great marriage and have been entirely faithful to each other for over 10 years now so the chances of that ever happening are slim to none I figure.
I believe that if I had dated that man and contracted the virus I would have no one to blame except myself if I had opted against wearing a condom or opted against discussing health issues with him as well.
I am happy for you that you have a mongamous relationship with your husband and have nothing to worry about in contracting any deathly disease.
In this guy's case, regardless of the women's responsibilities (and they're paying the consequences for their failure) it was his responsibility to be honest with them and take precautions to avoid passing on the infection. The latter is always everyone's responsibility, and the former became his responsibility as soon as he learned that he had the disease. That is why he was convicted and sentenced.
What you're saying is that a woman is responsible for what happens to her. I sure as hell wouldn't want you for my attorney when I went after this guy.
So glad I am out of the romance market!
From what these women had said, he seemed to be someone that was not a casual relationship... I wonder when he had all that time...
And... more than 2 women mentioned that they were HIV positve.
a revenge thing...
was his motives the same ? ? ?
to actually cause an self made epidemic....
if so....
45 to life....about the same by looking at the photo....
and that's a really big if.....
you know, there's no way that's going to happen......
headline news.....
" Man Kills Wife......"
well finger the rest of it out..........
: )
If I was in a relationship and the person did not know they had the disease and passed it to me I would have to find a way to forgive them and move forward. If they knew and did not inform me so that I could make sure I was protected I would end the relationship regardless of if I loved the person or not. If the person tried to murder me I would not stay with them and this amounts to the same thing.
I am outraged by this man's actions!!!
What's the deal with older people refusing to use contraceptives to ensure murderers such as he cannot take advantage of the situation? It is an epidemic in Florida. Retired citizens have the highest rate of STD's in our area. Thanks Viagra!
People must always protect themselves during a one-night-stand. But if you develop a relationship with someone who knows they are infected with a deadly virus and they don't tell you - it must be a crime.
What if the person was an out-of-state child molestor and a single mother left him alone with her children - would people blame the mother for not searching all 50 state sexual offender data bases? It's absurd.
It is a cruel cruel thing to knowingly do to someone else. It is bad enough so many suffer with this disease and many woman do not seek treatment during pregnancy and children are born into the world with it.
The man had a death sentence on his head and decided to share it with others. I think he should never be paroled.
Wasn't he the one who wanted to infect as many people as he could?? Premeditation?
I do not see the difference in someone like this dude and a cereal killer. He knowing went out to cause harm to others. There was no "relationship" in this humans actions.....
Did he receive enough time? Well he gets his medical paid for. He does get fed and housed for nothing. I think he got off pretty good!
