I need some help knowing where to go for career...

I am realizing this economy isnt going to fix itself in a long time so im trying to make some career decisions soon. i have a bachelors but its not good enough because I dont have much experience yet and I think i need more education to do what I want to do. My main question is where do i go to receive professional advice and talk to a real person about my options for the future? WIA (workforce investment act) wont work because i work in the same office with them (i work for the government) and dont want to look like im trying to leave...idk it would just be weird. I dont have an advisor cuz im not in college (I graduated with a communication degree) and now want to go for being a speech pathologist or journalism or human resources. any advice or where I can go to find out practical things to do to get there? thanks

Have you tried talking to the career counselors at the college you graduated from? Since you are an alumni there is a very good chance that they will assist you and give you practical advice on what you should do.
