I bought a new scale today...

We have had our old one for years and years. I bet I paid about $10 for it.

This new one was $30, but is digital. I am hoping that means it will be a lot more accurate.

I have it programmed for 2 users ( Hubby & I). Here is my screen. I had to input-my height, age & sex.

It measures: weight, body fat & hydration. A bit depressing though. I found our old scale to be off by 7 lbs *sigh*.

We had a digital scale too. Threw it out. When the batteries get low, you lost a bit of weight. Then gain some when the batteries are replaced. How fair is that?

I still use the old-fashioned kind with sliders along beams, like in doctors' offices. From what I understand, the important thing is to weigh on the same scale each time, and as long as it's consistent, it's accurate for you.

We have had our scale now for about 5 years. When it goes out. I just might go for the Digital also.

We had a digital scale awhile back but it broke. We have a normal scale now. It isn't the most accurate BUT it is close. As long as it continues to say my weight is below 105 I'll be happy. We've had this one awhile now. Probably 10 years?

They are pretty cool but when I was in weight watchers work program at the hospital , we took the scale into 3 different rooms and guess what 3 different weights. lol so we didnt know which was our true weight.

If there's any tilt to the floor, it can affect the reading. I guess the best thing to do is leave the scale in the same place for every weigh-in. I set my scale when I go to the doctor's office, then I go by that until the next doctor's visit.
