It's been a big few days for Apple and they capped it off with the introduction of the Magic Mouse which will now come standard with new versions of the iMac, also introduced yesterday.
The slew of Apple news stories started over the weekend when Verizon launched their "iDon't commercials" to promote the Android 2 smart phone that they will release in November. The commercials basically bashed the iPhone and claimed the Droid will be able to do a lot of things the iPhone can't do currently. Do you think Apple pushed up the development of a few features after the commercial got so much publicity or will they ignore the threat of the Droid?
The Apple news kept rolling in on Monday when they announced record quarterly sales for Mac's and iPhones leading to better than projected earnings results. The AAPL stock jumped on that news but dipped back down on Tuesday. It opened Wednesday just below 200 and has risen 2% so far in early morning trading.
Then yesterday came the announcement of two new versions of the iMac (a 27 inch and a 21.5 inch display) and their new technology the Magic Mouse. The new 21.5 inch display has a 1080p picture, which is the same or better than that HD television you have in your living room. But the coolest announcement was this new Magic Mouse which will use the same iPhone technology that allows you to swipe your finger to navigate around a page. Check out the demonstration video below...pretty cool stuff.
