Cheese Danish
This recipe is so easy, even I can make it. This came to me from my cousin Leslie McAllister through another cousin who made it last weekend at our cousin's get together. It is absolutely yummy!
Cheese Danish
2 cans Pillsbury crescent rolls
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, separated
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp. milk
2 8 oz. packages of cream cheese, softened
Press one package of crescent rolls into the bottom of a greased 9" x 13" pan. Combine both packages of cream cheese, egg yolk, vanilla and sugar and beat with a mixer until smooth. Pour mixture over first layer of crescent rolls. Unroll second can of crescent rolls and place on top of the cream cheese mixture. Pinch together seams of top and bottom layers. Beat egg white until frothy, pour over second layer of crescent rolls and spread evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. When done, mix powdered sugar and milk and pour over the top and spread evenly.
Enjoy!

Thanks so much for sharing!
if I cannot eat the whole thing, I need to keep it out of my house. Next time I am going to a get-together I will make it--then I can share and just eat a bit there--BUT I will eat one at home first to "make sure they are good" LOL
I used cream cheese spread with pineapple and added a few golden raisins....I had no powdered sugar...so i sprinkled a little brown sugar on it.....also the crescent rolls i had on hand were reduced fat (but they were not when I was finished)
the recipe is great.....
now I am wondering if I can add a tablespoon or two of pumpkin or sweet potato puree
to the cream cheese and sprinkle a few pecans on top......you have started me now.
Thank you so much.
