Hey guys -- now I KNOW a lot of you will read this and nod your head in total agreement because you'll see yourself in every single sentence!
To make this even better, I've nodded to many fellow frugal Gather members so please take the time to click on the links.
You might just see YOURSELF in this post!
You might be frugal if...
you have more coupons in your wallet than cash.
you can't remember the last time you paid for toothpaste, toothbrushes and shampoo.
you consider a car with 100,000 miles on it to be new.
you leave the price tag on something you've bought for the bragging rights.
you stocked up on Forever Stamps when they first came out, so you'd never have to pay another postal increase.
you know the Walmart clearance schedule better than the employees do.
you prefer curb shopping to window shopping.
you buy vinegar by the gallon, and wish it came in a bigger bottle.
repairing your dryer means stringing new clothesline in the backyard.
a 25% off sale doesn't even get you out of bed.
you do all of your Christmas shopping with rewards points.
soup is code for "whatever was left in the fridge."
your heart races every time you hear the word "free."
your stockpile resembles a small grocery store.
you know how to combine BOGOs, FAR offers, coupons and ECBs to get a good percentage of your food and toiletries for free. (And perhaps more telling ... the previous sentence made perfect sense to you)
your family knows not to throw out an empty cereal box without first checking to see if you're saving UPCs for an offer.
your family and friends walk away when you start talking because they know it will be about the money you saved or the deal you received (thanks Jenna!)
Your search engine is permanently set to 'free samples' (thanks Renee!)
you wish your siblings would give you some nieces & nephews so you can start stocking up on all the free baby stuff you've been passing up (thanks Sophie!)
Hope you enjoyed this fun frugal post!

But, I always thought Legend was very frugal and since he only rang the bell with four of these, I guess he's not as bad (or good) as I thought.
Stock pile coupons, and wait for a great sale, then shop for ONLY the items on the list that come out to as close to free as possible. Don't include normal groceries in that shopping trip. It's even better if you get money off your next purchase coupons, because then you split the transactions up, and use those coupons for the next transaction.
The best I've gotten is $45 worth of groceries for $.19 (without counting the coupons I received at the register ;p). That week, the store had deals where if you bought 5 of a certain set of products, you got a $5 coupon. If you bought 10 of a different set of products, you got a $10 coupon. I ordered coupons for those items, so I was only spending $2-3, and getting $5 & $10 coupons back. Then, that last trip, I stacked coupons like mad, and dug out every "FREE" product coupon I had.
We should have everyone submit their own ideas of frugal and I'll edit the list to make it longer when we get good ones.
thanks for linking me into your cool poem....now I will go off and check out the others as I might just learn a thing or two.
Thanks Faith!
How about, you wish your brothers and sisters would hurry up and give you some nieces so you could start stocking up on all the free baby stuff you have to pass up on.
It was a relief, though, when we went 2 full weeks without eating out a single time, or running to the store for forgotten items.
I don't get the one about vinegar..
I love saving money!
There are lots of smart savers on Gather.
