I scared

I went in to my doctor for my follow up this morning.  She is not likeing how tender I am and where the pain is located.  She has sent me to have a CT scan Stat, I am going in at 1:00 because I have to fast for 3 hours. 

 

She did switch my pain meds.  The vicodine was making me sick to my stomach.  I know my doctor is really concerned and if she sees one thing she does not like I am going to be in the hospital having my gall bladder out. 

I am scared out of my mind.  All I can tell you is I have never felt pain like this.  I have made it through 2 births of my kids and yes that was painful, but this has been a ruthless pain.

Please wish me luck, I really want to recover from what ever is going on from home, not in the hospital.  I had to have blood drawn today and they could barely get any.  I am not getting enough fluids.  I now have a nice bruise on both hands.  After all this I have to go get another IV for the contrast for the CT scan. 

 

I am in pain and scared please keep me in your thougths. 

Also until it is decided what is going on, I am going to be running behind on PIF and HH list.  If someone can tell me what is the best thing to do that would be great..

Oh, I wish they will find out what is wrong and take care of it for you.

I had to have gall bladder surgery. I began having severe pains and it paralyzed me. I couldn't hardly even walk. I had gall stones on the inside and lining the whole outside as well.

Now that my gall bladder is gone, I haven't had a pain since.

Hi Anne, If it helps any, I have had my gallbladder removed. It was an outpatient procedure for me, no over night stays.

I am so sorry, it sounds aweful. I hope everything goes well with the scan and they can figure out what is happening and get you pain free as soon as possible. Don't worry about Gather we will all be here when you get back, just take care of yourself, and send an update as soon as you are able.

I have heard that the pain from gall stones can be really bad.

Oh, gallbadder pain is very, very bad....my mother ended up having hers out about a year ago.....

I hope all goes well and if it is your gall bladder, hopefully they will get it out of there quickly. No gall bladder = no pain.

I'm assuming that means they think it is your gall bladder

i am so sorry anne....i have not had gall bladder problems but i did have viral pancreatitis.... as you said about your pain..,... far worse than labor.....the worst pain i ever had in my life.....i hope they take care of whatever it is soon......

So sorry you're having this problem. I know of a good site you can look at that has good medical information available for all kinds of medical problems. They have a gastroenterology forum. They have some expert forums with actual doctors, too. It's not a replacement for seeing a doctor, but it's a really good source of information in both the community forums and the expert forums. The site is called medhelp.org. I think it's worth your checking out when you feel well enough to sit at the computer. I have a lot of chronic GI problems and have found this site very helpful.

Oh, sounds scary. But, they will find out what it is. Do you notice it after you eat certain foods or take certain medicines? Is it worse about an hour or so after you eat cereal or bread? Did they take a scope and a biopsy of part of your intestines? Sounds like they're trying very hard to find out what is wrong. Please keep up updated.

I've had kidney stones and yes, was WAY worse than even labor!

Anne, I hope everything will be alright, and you can be treated at home,but if you need to be hospitalized it is something you must do for your family! Your in my prayers!!! God Bless!!!!!

Prayers are being sent.
The way they do the procedure now it will be real simple and far less pain, from when I had it done. My incision was about 6 inches long.. but now they put couple 1/2 inch cuts for the scope.
Once its over you ll be doing much better.
