OUR DAY APPLE PICKING

Fall brings so many fun things to do......one I haven't done before APPLEPICKING!!!

I love the country--for a visit anyway! =D

FILLING OUR BAGS!!!!

Fun on the hay stacks!!!!!!!

He only got a faceful twice ;)

The lady who runs the farm was giving a little chat about how running a farm is like and she pointed to the silo and asked if anybody knew what was in there--my son not missing a beat said "THE SUN!"

We all got a laugh=D She went along and said how great it would be on a gray day to run out to the silo and let out the sun!!!!!!!!!!!!

All in all we had a great time and would love to go again......next year.

Now I've got to go mash my apples for applesauce, and tomorrow pie day!!!

what a fun day! We'll be orange picking here soon...probably mid November or so when it is much cooler....cant wait.

I'm originally a city girl. When we moved out to the country in 2000, I had never picked apples. Ever. Well, we started going to the apple festivals and we learned how to pick apples. We didn't go last year BUT we went last weekend and had a ball. Isn't it fun? Plus we ate apples right off the tree! My son ate 8 of them! I swear. He just turned 14 and loves to pick them and eat them immediately. We ended up spending $17 on 20 apples, or so. We have 8 of them left.

Lovely photo essay. I took pics too but haven't had a chance to put them on the computer. Glad you enjoyed yourself. Once you've gone apple picking, you'll do it again next year.

I went apple picking in preschool with my class.... and I still remember it after all these years... it was a lot of fun.

We have fruit trees and have been picking apples for about a month now... as have the deer and raccoons! :)

My in-laws own a apple orchard. I love to go there with my grandkids and pick apples. They also have a few pears trees.

That sounds fun. Being on bed rest I am not able to do any of the fall activities but I did cheat a little. we went to the orchard and bought the ones they already picked. I made apple sauce today. I have half a bushel left to make more apple sauce later this week. my house smelled of apples today and it was so lovely! I hope you have fun making yours!
