Any area pumpkin patches? They free to walk thru and many have petting zoos. They just fun to visit no matter what age you are.

Good idea! One of those local places with cider and donuts and all that.

Me and my daughters are going to one next fri. They have goats to pet lol. The little ones will like that.

It sure does go fast! Turned 40 last December and just to let you know - it's great! All that stuff you never knew, you suddenly know.

You can have a blast for $26! Stop by a local museum or house of worship for quiet time. Go for a scenic walk near water (lake, pond, fountain, whatever). Take a trip to a pumpkin patch or other field to gather some good stuff. Get a pumpkin, carve a jack-o-lantern and use the innards for pumpkin custard, roasted pumpkin seeds and/or or pie. Treat yourselves to dinner from the $1 menu (all the fast food places have one now). Cost: about 13 bucks so you still have money for fun tomorrow :)

Can also go to the library - sometimes there are free and low cost fun programs for fall at the local libraries and community centers on Saturdays.

I have a daughter who is 30 and I tell her that's impossible since I am only 25. That's what my mind thinks, anyway. Legally I'm 57 and some days my body says I'm 97, but I find it's the mind that rules!

Happy almost birthday. In April, I turn seventy , I have a forty-one year old daughter and inside I am only thirty. OUtside, things are starting to creak.

Take her to the store to buy yeast and flower then teach her to bake bread.. Thats always fun.

That's true. My motto is to live one day at a time, and enjoy it to the fullest.

I hope you and your daughter found something fun to do. I take this same pill myself. My doctor just lowered my dose from 3 a day 600 mg to 2 a day it is a big change I understand.

I am also on Neurontin...3xday...half the time I forget the middle dose

I was a single mother for a few years. When I look back at those days, lately, I think that the best thing about those days was that when I was home with my son, cooking, doing homework, cleaning, etc... I didn't think, "Why am I doing it all." But lately, my husband seems to be on a mission to destroy his marriage once and for all. He called me at 4:00 yesterday and said he'd be home in a minute. He got home at 10:30 and then decided he didn't want to hear what I wanted to tell him about it. How convient for him. I'm very upset today. I think that I was a lot happier when I was single. That sounds horrible, I know. But the bright side of it was, besides the stress of doing it all, alone, my moods were much brighter and I had a much better self-image.

I like to take my children on a spree of free places to go. Walks, playground, library, and for a treasure hunt in the yard. It's amazing what cool things you can find just walking slowly through your yard (or a park) and looking closely at the ground. Odd bugs, cool seeds, a pig snout shaped nut... things like that. Then we'd go home and make a page, pasting on whatever we found that walk, drawing a picture of the book we picked out... Then once I've worn them out I can sit down with the book I picked out.

It's good you're thinking positive, how about a good movie night, that would be nice for the both of you.
