The soundtrack to New Moon, the 2nd film in the Twilight saga, was released early today. Typically soundtracks are released on Tuesdays and I think they usually come out after the movie - or at least close to the opening date. This time the producers decided to release the track one month before the November 20th release date for the much anticipated film. I imagine it's to help build up more craze for the film - if that's even possible.
I'd love to say I have a full download of the entire disc here but unfortunately that's near impossible to do. In researching it around the web it seems to have been well received so far. Here's what I found from the Los Angeles Times:
The "New Moon" soundtrack is definitely much more of a piece than the soundtrack to "Twilight." It's moody, music-to-get-sad-to, definitely, but music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas has put together a collection of songs that captures the drama of young love without drowning in it. Released once again on Patsavas' Chop Shop label, which is associated with Warner Music Group imprint Atlantic, "New Moon" is, on a whole, more inventive than the scattered radio-ready rock that permeated its predecessor.
While I wasn't able to get the entire downloadable soundtrack, I did pull the list of songs and pick my favorite two videos. Check out below and tell me - will you be buying yours today?
