Al Franken introduced a bill in the Senate which interfered with KBR's right to sign contracts with its employees. The small print gives up the right to sue the company in cases of rape from a fellow employee. This became a problem for one 19 year old female who was gang raped in Iraq by fellow employees.
Thirty Senators voted against the Franken bill, claiming that the US Senate has no right to interfere with private enterprise. All were Republicans. KBR is of course a subsidiary of Haliburton. Note that these same Senators railed against the notion of US taxpayer dollars going to an entity (ACORN) which had some staffers caught on tape by a gotcha filmmaker telling a fake hooker and fake pimp how to lie to the government. But rape committed on foreign soil by guys paid by US taxpayers, not a prob.
It's a point of view thing.
by the way, I borrowed this from Jon Stewart's the Daily show. You should watch this episode.

What the hell is wrong with the GOP? Are they absolutely devoid of all ethics and decency? How far will they stoop in order to protect their own, yet continue to rant against the Democrats for similar or lesser things? These people are absolutely off their rockers.
I saw a clip last night about 3 GOP Congresspeople making public statements about Muslim interns infiltrating Congress and trying to take over the country. Are the inmates actually in control of the asylum now? These people are f*ck'g nuts!
