Greetings, Gather writers. It's not only Thursday, but the day is half gone!
I want to thank "Lynn, who's writing motto is Tabula rasa - Caveat lector (atwhatcost)" for hosting last Thursday's Writing Essential while I was finally in the hospital having surgery. Lynn was gracious enough to plan on editing the previous week, but my surgery got delayed for the third time, making it necessary to call on Lynn for last week instead. So, thank you, Lynn! You did a wonderful job.
For today's Writing Essential I'd like to focus on change. The seasons are changing, our lives are changing, our bodies are changing, and the world is changing. What sort of change are you experiencing, and how is it causing a positive or negative (or may
be both) impact on your way of life?
I've been forced to slow down since last week's surgery, and the changes I've undergone in the past week have shown me a side of myself I don't much like. I'm not a good patient and I detest the fact that I've needed to slow down and do things on my healing body's schedule. To counteract these changes I've tried to incorporate a few things into my days that I don't usually leave enough time to enjoy...like reading the stack of magazines piling up in my living room, and finishing two novels that have been sitting on my nightstand.
So write about change as it pertains to you. Write a poem, write a rant, write a personal experience essay. Be sure to post it to the Gather Writing Essential, and use Thursday Writing Essentials in your tags. Also, if you could please use the word "change" in your title, it will help me to find your submission in the queue.

As far as weight lose goes - shoot! I gained, and gained and gained! Only now working towards losing it.
Glad I could help out in some small way. I asked to sub for you, and ended up becoming the substitute editor. Figured you weren't going to be the only person, who had real life issues pressing in, when you much rather be moderating on GWE, so thought I'd offer the same thing for all the editors. Learned how tough - and fun - the days can be.
Funny, once again, it seems our minds are melding. Wrote a freewrite yesterday that fits your prompt today.
Changing Times.....
NOT SO LONG AGO...........
I remember them days of old , when a dime was precious as a piece of gold .
Carmel candy ,Soda -pops ,and even Cherry flavored loli-pops .
But times have CHANGED and so have I ,My children have grown and left me to die.
And when I look back on my early days, It makes me laugh to think of my ways .
Birthdays and Christmas and dinners too, Time with the Mrs. and time for you .
But time is like a feeble foe , It gains so much but moves so slow .
For GOD has its chosen and they are few, so pray every night and that might do .
For my time has come for me to go ,so wipe off them tears and be not slow.
So begone my child and not look back , the future's ahead what time you lack.

I did this quick so judge me not. I am changing my universal joints on my truck and doing this....thank you .

Hi, I learn to paste and copy the other day., Thanks to Lyyn . I am new and have posted a quick poem being a new member today...I spotlighted it..is this what you want ? Am I doing the right thing...I really did not intend to write anything but start on saturday's writing quest.
