When will the money madness end in Washington? Now Obama is pressing Congress to give $250 to all recipients of Social Security and disability payments. His reasoning is that, since they will not receive a Cost of Living Adjustment this year for the first time since 1975, they need this monetary help. I say that they can tighten their belts the way the rest of us have done and quit whining about the cost of health care.
I also say that they should have worked hard and saved their money, the American way, and then they would not need these handouts. Besides, most could have worked to age 75!
I am sick and tired of Obama giving my money away to the needy! We may need this money to invade Iran.
(How anyone could believe that I am serious, I don't fathom. After many have attacked this post as serious, I say that I fully favor anything that will help people living on Social Security. I myself do.)

... how old are you?
How old are you?
Not all on the dole need the extra that badly. I'm glad he's taking care of the most important ones first.
(Please don't make me prove the one trillion. I have a post about it. If you question the amount, read the post.)
The only reason I am rating this a ten, is because I happen to like and agree with most of your posts. This is an exception. A huge one. We did work all of our lives - for as long as we could.
Nobody plans on becoming disabled, can we at least agree on that? Nobody plans on not being able to work, agree? Nobody plans on having to live in the woods, yes, it's called a homeless camp! Nobody plans on never having a house again, of any size.
I can't believe you, of all people are saying this -- how can you? Walk a mile in these people's shoes, including mine and you'll see how easy it is to end up broke and digging in dumpsters. We've been there, done that, had to get permission from an apartment complex just to be allowed to dig in their dumpsters - for bottles to cash in so that we could pay for gas or to eat! Yes, there were used syringes in those dumpsters and yes we got stuck by them - yes, we got vomit all over us, because people throw out bottles in bags that they've vomited in.
How dare you?
You're never been there - you do not have a clue of what others lives are like, you also don't understand that you cannot even stay in a shelter if you have a car, at least in this state--you are told to sleep in it!
I'd love to work. My husband who's on SSD wanted to work and tried to keep going against impossible odds. He was accepted for SSD. His case was heard by a judge with compassion - mine was transferred out of state and heard by a judge that never looked at my file and treated me like the dirt you seem to think I am. I was turned down in less than ten minutes. I don't have insurance, I am disabled and since Mark has SSD, we are fortunate to have a roof over our heads, again
Right now it's one room and even with the second room, it's old, moldy and nothing you'd ever live in.
You want to live like me? You haven't heard the half of it. I'm saddened that you feel this way. Truly.
Marilyn - who now knows how you really feel about people like me.
Leo is a proud Democrat. Before you get all riled up, this post is very tongue in cheek. He's not being serious and nether are most of the people commenting here.......
Even though you were being sarcastic Leo, that's not far off from some attitudes I've seen.
yes, some people actually think that way. I will welcome the $250. And with two hip replacements, a bulging disc and next Wednesday getting my cervical vertabrae fused, I don't think being a stuntwoman, or anything else for that matter, is viable!
What am I supposed to do with all this impotent rage?!!
Oh, wait. yelling at you expended it. A 10 for the interesting experience.....
I totally took this wrong and there were other reasons, that I'm not going into here. Some are in the email I sent you.
I'm publicly saying to you, right now, here, that I'm very, very sorry. Please forgive me for being an ass.
Keep on!!
