The IMA (Indianapolis Museum of Art) 10-11-09 .... Fall is in the air!

After work on Monday (10-11-09) I took a little trip downtown with Gary L to the IMA. I wanted to go inside but found out that they are closed on Mondays. :-(  So we took a little tour of the grounds.  It is so lovely their and some of the trees have such wonderful color now. Below are a few of the 87 photos I took (I wasn't even there more than an hour!!! Imagine if I were there longer!!!) that afternoon. The day was cloudy and it was in the lower 50's for a temp (Ithink). Not too bad but still had to have a lite jacket.  Hope you enjoy the photos!

The IMA is free. There is no cost to go and enjoy their beautiful grounds or art. This also seems to be a popular place for those special photos to be taken as there were several groups there with photographers in tow.  I enjoyed my short visit and hope I get to go back real soon!!

The grounds are sooo pretty. Wow. While we were in Winston-Salem in 2008, we made the mistake of trying to go to museums on a Monday too. They were closed. So aggravated us that we came all that way and they were closed.

Last summer, we stayed in Savannah over night and when we wanted to go to the museum it was also closed. I think it was a Monday too. I guess this is a common thing in many cities.

Thanks for photos of IMA. They are all beautiful picture. I've never been there but I can imagine if I get this place I will enjoy the nice scene.

You have a really nice place out here. I've never been to Indianapolis, but if I do, I will be sure to visit.

I've always loved the grounds. I haven't been in the museum since they did all the additions. You and Gary were about seven minutes from my house when you were there.
