Jack Johnson has a...let's call it "new" album and film coming out called "En Concert" which is live performances of his songs played during his 2008 tour. The album and film will hit stores and be available for download on October 27, 2009.
The track listing for the album and the film include some of Jack Johnson's biggest hits performed live in different venues. Seeing as most of these concerts were from music festivals Jack brings a bunch of special guests on stage to help him perform his songs. Among the guests are such names as G. Love, Ben Harper and Matt Costa. The highlight of the guest appearances is when Eddie Vedder comes on stage and performs "Constellations" with Jack in Manchester.
The first released footage (below) is from Jack's hit "Bubble Toes" and combines footage of Jack performing with scenes of the crowd and European landscapes. Looks pretty cool. I'm heading over to jackjohnsonmusic.com now to pre-order it now.
And being the good surfer dude that he is, Jack has already donated 100% of his 2008 European tour proceeds and will donate 100% of the proceeds from the "En Concert" album and film to charities. According to the Jack Johnson music website:
"The Proceeds: 100% of the 2008 tour profits and profits from this release will be going to fund the Kokua Hawaii Foundation and the Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation to support environmental, art, and music education around the world."
