By the end of last night, we had only heard a definitive answer from 2 of Raegan's teachers. One was for Earth Science, which she was getting a D- in, and the other was Spanish, which she was getting a B- in, but missing 2 assignments.
After finding out what exactly the assignments were, I had her sit down and focus on catching up for those two classes first. It turned out, one of the Spanish assignments had been done, turned in, graded, and given back to Raegan already. My guess is that the teacher missed it when she was entering the grades in. Rae finished the other assignment and promised to turn them in today.
The project for Earth Science was longer, and involved her adding photos, and talking about herself in a power point presentation. I know about a month ago, I made a disc filled with TONS of photos of Raegan, our family, and pets, and sent them to school. I have a feeling this was something she should have done on school time, and didn't. It's hard for me to imagine the school would require an assignment using a computer program, then expecting it to be done at home when they have no way of knowing who out there has a computer with that program. Luckily, we did.
I just got an email from her ES teacher saying it was turned in, and it was completed, and her grade adjusted. It was worth 85 points, so it was a biggie- it bumped her from a D- to a freaking A! SCORE.
I'm going to sit with her tonight and show her that, so she can see just how far that work went for her. She spent over an hour doing the project, but leap frogged from a D- to an A in that amount of work time.
I told her to ask her history teacher & math teacher for missing assignments today, since neither teacher has gotten back to me yet, and told Rae to make sure to bring both books home so she can work on her missing work for those two classes after school today.
I am so glad I found out when I did, and that already, her effort is being rewarded and can show her how that little bit of work makes such a big difference.

It took her a little while, and I did continue checking her daily reports online, but she finally got around to getting things done herself. If she had a late assignment, she talked to her teacher about it.
I'm hoping she will keep up with the good work this school year.
